"What the hell man?! Do you have to yell?" Arthur, who'd fallen off his chair by my sudden yell, whined as he got up from the floor patting the dirt off his pants.
"Sorry, Arthur. But still almost three days, how could I have slept that long?" I said, putting my hands over my aching head.
"Okay, Okay! I get it! But tell me what happened, and don't fall asleep for another few days and leave me in the blue." He said, looking at my tired eyes, his phone turned off sitting by my feet.
As I explained to him, his face went smugger with each word. Finally, when I'd finished, he said the most uncomforting words that could be present in the dictionary.
"Can't say that I didn't expect you to get your karma." Arthur said, leaning back in his chair and putting his hands behind his head.
"What do you mean by 'Karma'?" I asked, struck dumb by his words. His friend just got cheated on, and he said that. And what type of karma? He didn't do anything wrong.
"Think about it; you've been cheating on Pearl ever since you both got married and on the very night you planned to propose to your mistress, all of a sudden you find her cheating on you. Isn't this karma?" He kept on rambling on and on and on, he was rambling so much that my already droopy eyes started to droop even more.
*Sigh* "Okay, I get it. But please stop rambling now and tell me what I should do. I know for a fact that Cordelia won't quit until I forgive her and she can get back to going shopping every day." I said, slightly glaring at him.
"Hmmm." he hummed, looking lost in thought. "Well, let's think about that issue when we get rid of the issue which probably just entered the doors to the hospital." he said with a light chuckle.
"What do you mean?" I asked, looking at the chuckling idiot with a glare.
"Well, dear David, your parents probably arrived now and are probably headed towards this ward as we speak." he said, sitting straight in his chair now.
"Oh no. How am I gonna get out of this!" I said, looking at him desperately for a way out.
"Well, we are gonna act out of this situation." Arthur said, smiling at me.
"WHAT?! Did you lose your brain somewhere? How will we act to get out of this?!" I shouted, already gone into panic mode. The last time I had an accident like this was when I was fifteen, and my parents got so worried about me that they didn't let me leave the hospital for five weeks till I'd been checked and diagnosed healthy by the best doctors in the world.
"Yes bruh, I lost my brain. And to get out of this we are gonna act." he said snapping his fingers in front of my face.
"Okay, fine. But what act are we putting on cause I don't wanna sit on this bed for the next whole month." I said putting a hand over my forehead.
"We, no you, will be faking memory loss." Arthur said with a proud smirk on his face.
"What?"
"Did you lose your hearing ability in that car accident?" he asked.
"Are you an idiot! Do you not remember the last time we pretended I'd lost my memories?! My dad almost gave the company away to Daniel! Dimwit are you tryna make me jobless?!" I yelled at him but he just looked at me stupidly.
"I meant like act as if you've lost your memories of the past year, David." he said, putting a hand on his forehead. "Did you get dumber in that accident?"
"Don't try me, Arthur, I'm warning you. And fine we'll just go with your stupid plan, but if my father tries to make any note of handing the company over to Daniel, believe me I will expose our little act." I said, taking up the glass of water from the table on my left and taking a sip. "How close do you think they are?"
"I predict that they just got into the hallway." he said, sitting straight in his chair and putting his phone in his pocket. "Get ready."
I quickly straightened my posture, and just at that moment, as Arthur had predicted, the door to the ward flew open and my parents rushed in closely followed by my younger brother Daniel.
"David, my dear, are you okay?! How are you feeling?! Does your head hurt? Do you want me to call a doctor for you?! Do you need some water?! Daniel! Don't just stand around! get your brother a glass of water!" My mother yelled in her shaky voice at my younger brother, who confusedly walked over to the cooler in the corner of the room. I could tell she was really worried about me.
"Mom, it's okay, I'm fi-" I started speaking, trying to make her calm down, but she cut me off.
"No, don't you dare say that your fine! This is all that Cordelia's fault! I am tired of that vile woman using you as a purse, I have had Enough!"
