"SURPRISE!"
I was shocked to hear a loud yell, then looked up surprised to see June, Arthur, Daniel, David, and David's parents standing behind the table laden with food.
I felt a small tear roll down my face as Mom and Dad (David's) came over and buried me in a big hug.
I hardly keep track of the date or day and don't take note of how far or close my birthday is, so I felt beyond happy to know at least someone remembered it.
They decorated the space from top to bottom, there was a huge banner in the middle of the room and balloons were set in all the corners.
We went through some birthday festivities and games and then cut the cake.
The party was over about 2 hours later and everybody returned to their respective homes.

I watched David as I sat down on the bed. He was sitting at the small table with a few files in his hands and some on the chair beside him.
'You're not going to sleep?" I asked, eyeing him as he picked up another file and started flipping through it.
"I'm gonna go to bed in a few minutes, still need to finish all this work." He said with a smile." I'll go to my study. I still have some work left to do." He got up and picked up the files.
"Goodnight." I said closing my eyes as I heard the door open.
"Good night. " I heard him say before the door closed with a light thud.
I lay there for a while, a weird feeling in my stomach as if something bad was gonna happen.
After a few minutes, my consciousness slipped and I drifted off to dreamland.

Waking up, I saw that David was sleeping soundly on the other side of the bed.
Stretching my arms, I got out of bed and went to go freshen up.
Getting out of the bathroom, I looked toward David to see that he was still asleep.
I changed out of my nightgown and took a quick look in the mirror.
I was wearing a deep blue dress with a light-colored coat. My pants were black, and I put on the same sneakers I was wearing yesterday. I set a cute-looking beanie on my head which matched my outfit and slid a bracelet on my wrist. I picked up a white beaded bag and walked out of the room.
Walking into the kitchen a few minutes later, I sat down at the table as Mrs. Gray set a plate of pancakes in front of me.
I got up sometime later and put my empty plate in the sink.
getting out of the kitchen, I went to the dining room and opened my laptop.
Some while later, Mrs. Gray came in. "There's someone here to see you Mrs. Myers." she informed.
"Who is it?" I asked, not looking up from the screen.
"It's Miss Cordelia." she answered.
"I see. Have her seated in the lounge. I'll be there in a few minutes." I said opening another file on my laptop.
"Yes, Madam." Mrs. Gray said and left the room.
Getting up a couple of minutes later, I walked out into the lounge to find a blonde-haired woman already seated sitting on the armchair.
She was sitting with one leg over the other and was sipping a cup of tea with her pinkie finger sticking out.
Her dress was revealing, showing a bit of her cleavage, and her face was looking like the whole makeup pallet had been punched into her face. It was an annoying pop of many different colors.
On average she looked like the final boss in a rom-com.
"So, to what do I owe the pleasure?" said as I sat down in the chair opposite to her.
"Oh, it's nothing, I've just been wondering where David has been." She answered sending a subtle glare my way.
"He's resting." I said glaring back.
She then looked at me with a disgusted look and said, "Well he can rest later, call him down, I want to talk to him." she demanded putting down her glass.
"And why should I?" I asked looking at her arrogant figure.
I still remember how she'd shamelessly come up to me last year to tell me I was 'worthless' and should just file a divorce because David didn't love me and I was just his wife in the public eye.
"Just call him down." she said rolling her eyes.
I got up and went upstairs. Opening the door, I saw that David was already awake and had likely just finished getting dressed.
"There's someone here to see you." I informed folding my arms over my chest.
"Is it Arthur?" he asked looking up at me with a pure look in his eyes.
"Go and see for yourself." I said and went back downstairs.
David followed me to the bottom of the stairs then I walked to the dining room and opened up my laptop again.
