Party

Ivy pours herself a cup of orange juice as Meredith decorates a cake for Zolas birthday tonight. She goes to sit down next to Zola and starts making faces at her as Jackson laughs, "Oh, damn it. I screwed it up."

"Gag Zola, really?" Jackson asks.

"Those aren't G's. Those are Y's for yay. Yay Zola. Tell him, Ivy," Meredith turns to her sister-in-law.

Ivy talks in a baby voice to Zola, "Aunt Ivy isn't taking sides, no she isn't. She's just going to look at this cute face right here, yes she is."

As she's to busy looking at the baby, she misses Jackson soft look directed at her. But Meredith doesn't and clears her throat to get his attention.

Jackson gestures to the cake, "See, a normal person would've just written Happy Birthday."

"Well, I couldn't fit all those letters on the cake," Meredith focuses back on the it.

April walks into the kitchen, "Okay, who used up the last of my deodorant?"

The girl at the fridge, whom Alex brought home, says, "Oh, that might have been me. Sorry. Kinda had a workout last night."

April looks at Jackson who says, "Not mine."

"I have an unused one up in my room and it better not be yours, Avery," Ivy tells April who nods in appreciation.

"Coffee," Alex says as he walks in.

"Fresh out, chief," Jackson tells him.

April is confused as Ivy makes Zola laugh, "Wait. N-no. Thats impossible. I just bought some three days ago."

Ivy looks up, "We're out of O.J., too"

"Hey, you're still here?" Alex asks the girl.

"Oh, yeah. I was on my way out, and then I saw these cheeks. So cute," she starts walking towards Zola.

Meredith is quick to pick her daughter up as Ivy moves to sit next to Jackson, "Oh! We don't touch the baby because we don't know where those hands have been."

April quipps, "Alex, does."

Ivy starts choking on the orange juice she was drinking before high fiving April, "Nice."

"Okay, so, um, I have a meeting with Owen, so I'm off. Party is at 8. Don't be late. Ivy, you good to bring Zola to daycare?" Meredith turns to her.

"Yes, give me, give me, give me," Ivy says, standing up to take her niece.

Alex whispers to his one night stand, "I got 20 minutes before work. You wanna, you know?"

"Yeah."

"Good. Come on."

They leave the kitchen as Jackson says, "Round two."

Ivy shakes her head, "Nope. As someone who shares a wall with him, it's definitely more than round two."

April shakes her head in disgust, "We need to move."

"Do we?" Jackson asks, smirking as he picks up the paper.

"When I'm not looking at Zola, I agree with April. But looking at Zola, I agree with Jackson," Ivy says, bouncing Zola.

April mumbles to herself as she leaves the room, "Oh, yeah, I'm sure it when your looking at Zola."

"I love trauma days," Ivy sings walking up to April.

"I worry about you some days. Why are you so happy?" She asks.

Ivy smiles, "Because I'm at home. I'm at home at trauma and now I just need a good surgery and then to celebrate Zolas birthday and it will be a great day!"

April looks at her, "Are we going to acknowledge your break up with Jonathan?"

"Nope. There was really no relationship to begin with. I have all I need," Ivy shakes her head.

"Okay, whatever you say. Come on, let's go talk to Jackson about these places that I've found."

"You were serious about that?"

Ivy sits next to April as she talks about the different places she's found, "Well, this one has a patio and a garage, but this one has hardwood floors and a washer/dryer."

Jackson is grabbing stuff out of the fridge as he asks her, "You sure you want to move?"

"Uh, Meredith and Derek have a baby, Ivy is living with her older brother and sister-in-law, and you're living with your ex. We're moving," April says, causing Ivy to scrunch her eyebrows.

"I never thought I would be a fifth year resident living with my brother and his family. You're right, we need to move," she agrees.

Alex then walks into the lounge, "I'll move. Zolas killing my game. Every girl I bring home wants a baby the minute they see her."

Ivy laughs as Jackson sits next to her, "No, I will not live with you and a new skank every night."

"All right, then you and me. You don't want to live with Mary Poppins, maybe Little Shepherd," he gestures to Jackson.

"No, they cook, they clean-" he starts.

They interrupt him, "We're also you're friends."

Ivy shoots him a look that says, 'what the hell?'. He raises his hands in a gesture that admits defeat. Meredith comes in and steals the pan out of Alex's hands, "What the hell?"

"I need food for Zolas party. I thought I was gonna have time to go to the store, but Richard's 10,000th surgery is gonna take forever. You think Teddy's gonna care if I take some of her widow casseroles?" Meredith asks.

Cristina then comes in with another one, "No. Go for it. You know what? Take this one, too. Its turkey tetrazzini."

"Ooh, yum."

"You and, um, McQueen finally find a patient who's willing to let you operate on them?" Cristina asks Alex as Ivy lays her head down.

"Bite my ass," he responds.

"Oh, Mer, proctology. There's your specialty. Explore the mysteries of the butt," Cristina points to Alex.

April asks, "Why aren't you just doing general like your mom? It's a no-brainer."

Alex adds, "And good marketing. I mean, when people hear the name Grey, they know they're getting quality."

Jackson argues with his mouthhful, "No, you can't win following in the footsteps of a phenom."

"Said the lame, mediocre grandson of Harper Avery," Cristina says.

"Hey. I agree with them. It's harder following in the footsteps of someone so amazing and known for doing greatness and making the inoperable, operable," Ivy rants.
