The Crash

*Meredith's POV*

I stare up at the sky. I look around and see Cristina, "Mer! Meredith! Meredith! Get up! You have to get up now! It's Ivy! Ivys on fire!"

She drags me up and I hear Arizona screaming. I see Mark and Cristina trying to put out the flames on a person. Wait, that's Ivy! I scramble up and help them. We stomp out the fire close to her and eventually are able to put out the flames on her body. Her arm was blistering along with her leg.

Mark takes a look, "Shes breathing. Probably passed out from the pain. Her arm should heal okay. But this leg. She could lose it if we don't get it treated correctly soon."

I notice that I have a piece of plane in my leg and quickly grab a piece of fabric to pull it out, "How long was I out?"

"I don't- I... I don't know. I-I lost my shoe."

"Where's- where's Derek and Lexie?" I ask.

Arizona continues to scream as Cristina tries to find her bearings, "I don't... I don't know. I lost a shoe."

"What happened?" I ask, walking over to Ivy and looking over her burns.

"The plane crashed, that's what happened. We were in a plane, and it crashed. Plane crash," she yells.

"Where is Derek?!" I look into the woods around us, "Cristina, where is Derek?"

She remembers, "He was sucked out the side when we hit the trees, and then the back of the plane came off. It came- it came off."

I remember where my sister was, "Lexie was in the back of the plane."

She continues explaining, "I-I looked to the back, and all I could see was freakin sky."

"Where is she?"

She yells, "I don't know! I only have one shoe!"

I feel the back of my head and I feel blood, "I'm bleeding."

Cristina screams at Arizona, "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!"

We turn when we hear coughing. We look at Ivy and see that she's awake and visibly shaking, "Mer... Cris... wher... where's De.. Ma...?"

"We don't know where Derek is. Mark is around here. He's looking for Lexie," I explain, kneeling down to smooth her hair.

"It... hurts," she says, catching her breath.

I nod, "You're covered in burns. Mark says your arm should be fine but he's worried about your leg."

We look up and around when we hear tapping, "Do you hear- do you hear that sound? Where is that sound coming from?"

Arizona points, "There. It's coming from over there."

I look down at Ivy, "Will you be okay here with Arizona?"

"If someone's hurt. I'm the most... most qualified to help. Take... take me with you," she gets out.

"Okay, I'm going to lift you. This will be painful but you're okay," Mark tells her, walking over to us.

When he picks her up, she screams. Mark winces but counties to take her with us. I yell along the way, "Derek! Lexie! Derek! Lexie!"

We see a hand hitting a seatbelt against the plane, Mark is the first to realize who it is, "Lexie."

We run quickly over to the plane. Mark sets Ivy up against the plane, her wincing at the sudden change of position.

"Lexie. Lexie," Mark tries to find a pulse.

"I knew you show up," I hear her say.

Ivy winces as she looks at Mark, "Okay, she's awake and responsive. Thats good. You guys, need to get... get her out of... there. Once you do. I can treat her. But only once she's out- and- and I can asses."

We quickly stand up, Mark explains further, "She's tachycardic and short of breath."

I take a breath, "We have to find Derek."

"Okay, you know what? We've got Lexie. So go. Go find him. Go, go. Go try and find him," I look to Ivy as Cristina tells me to go.

"Go. Find my brother while I take-take care of your sister," she tells me.

I nod, and turn to go find my husband.

○○○○*Original POV*

Her leg was killing her. She tests her arm and find that she's able to lift it with little pain. She tunes out Cristina and Mark as she tries to move herself so she can see Lexie. She has to help her.

"How you doing in there?" Ivy asks but Cristina draws her attention.

"Pop my arm back in," she tells her, kneeling down next to Ivy.

Ivy nods and quickly lifts her arms into position. Right as she's about to, Cristina says,"Wait. Wait. Wait- ow! Ah! Oh, God! Oh! I said wait Ivy!"

She shakes her head, "Its better when you're not expecting it. If you were fully aware it was happening, the pain would feel worse."

"Okay. I'm getting you back for that if we ever get out of this," she promises.

"We'll get back. We have to," Ivy tells her, turning back to Lexie.

Ivy counts for Mark and Cristina to lift the plane, "One, two, three."

Cristinas arm is in a makeshift sling that Mark made, "Again, one, two, three."

They groan as they assert as much force as possible to get the plane off of Lexie. Ivy turns her body as much as possible to her friend, "Ah! Lexie, run it down for me. Leave nothing out."

"My legs and my pelvis are crushed. And I can't f-feel my other arm, so I'm not sure it's even there anymore. And, uh, my chest feels like it's gonna explode, so it's probably a massive... hemothorax," she lists.

"Oh, oh, we-we gotta- we gotta get the oxygen from the plane. Okay? And fluids. Fluids. She needs water bottles. And, uh, uh, the tubes, the oxygen tubes. We can get her fluids, okay? You need to also get, uh, something to cover Ivys burns. Right Ivy? Go get em. Go. Go get em. Go get em. Why aren't you doing anything?" Mark tells Cristina.

Ivy looks down, in shame of not being able to help her friend, as Lexie gasps out, "She... she knows it won't help."

"No. You are gonna be fine. Stop. You're gonna be fine. Go! Get em!" Mark yells at Cristina.

Cristina kneels down next to Ivy and looks at Lexie, "I'm gonna be right back. For both of you."

Ivy nods as Cristina leaves. Mark lays down so he's facing Lexie with his head resting against Ivy.

Ivy rests her head on the plane. The pain in her leg has become bearable but even she knows the longer she sits in the woods, the increase in risk of infections and eventually, loss of the leg.
