Against Orders

Ivy admires Jackson as he changes and Alex talks, "For the millionth time, Jo and I are not into each other."

Cristina says with her mouth full, "Oh, please. You and Ponytail-Mcgee were canines in heat last night. Literally."

Meredith comes in and sits next to Ivy on the couch, "Told you they were doing it, Avery. Pay up."

"Seriously, you two are one drink away from crazy monkey sex," Ivy laughs at Alex.

"Just stuff her turkey. You'll feel better," Cristina tells him, causing Ivy to laugh.

"I feel fine. Look, I'm not screwing my ex every night and I'm not taking advantage of interns anymore," Alex directs at Cristina.

Ivy sees April, "Hey, Apes. You good?"

April asks the group, "Hey, here's a question. Um, whatever happened to good old fashioned romance? No stuffing of turkeys or taking advantage of interns but you know, what about nice normal dates where people talk, share a meal, get to know each other, and then wind up together, not because they're monkeys, but because they have genuine feelings in a committed way. I mean, what is so wrong with that, huh?"

Ivy and Jackson share a look, "You just described Jackson and I's relationship."

"Are you going to eat all of those?" Meredith asks, looking at the burritos in April's hands.

April then walks out as Ivy starts laughing, "Oh, poor April. I hope the guy she's seeing will work out."

"What guy?" Cristina asks.

"I shouldn't say anymore. I'm technically not suppose to know," Ivy tells them, getting up.

She quickly kisses Jackson before heading to round on her ortho patients.

Ivy stands with Meredith and Cristina as Alex and Jackson walk up with their interns, "Every time I touch this thing, it deletes another patient."

" deletes a patient?" Ivy asks, accepting Jacksons kiss on the cheek.

"I did the exact same thing this morning. Here. Let me see... something," Wilson takes the tablet.

Meredith nods to the photographers, "Who are your stalkers?"

Alex sighs, "Oh, uh, the new guys are looking for a hospital show pony-a face for the brochure."

Jackson smirks, "Yeah, Karevs my competition."

"Mm. If you can call it that," Edwards says.

Ivy turns to look at her giving her a bitch brow as she slowly backs up and stops smiling. Ivy nods before turning back to the group, "You can't though."

Alex mocks her, "Bite me, McBaby."

Meredith asks them, "And why are there no women in the running?"

"Oh, there was. I turned them down. This face only goes on the Nobel brochure," Cristina gestures to her face.

"I also turned them down. Slightly different reasons," Ivy mentions.

Meredith turns to her, "What was your reasoning?"

"Could you imagine if my sisters got ahold of those pictures? No thank you. Plus, my accepting would mean helping Cahill and no way am I helping that devil."

The group laughs as the devil herself walks up with some investors, "And here we have a fully centralized electronic records system. Everything you need to know about any client at anytime. Smart, streamlined, efficient-"

"Oh, efficient. It would be more efficient if it didn't keep deleting my patients," Meredith interrupts.

"And notice her use of the word patients instead of clients. We are a hospital that people, not take their money," Ivy smiles.

They hear Callie call out, "Sing it, Grey, Shepherd."

Ivy smirks before heading to see her patients after smiling for a photo.

Ivy sighs as she listens to Jackson talk to the interns, "So by the end of this seminar, I expect all of you to be able to perform basic wound closures using the interrupted 2-layer technique."

"I don't like that guy in the back. I can feel him watching me," Ivy hears as she walks with Jackson, looking over the interns work.

"No, it's just me. I like to look at you," Brooks says, causing Ivy to giggle.

"Quick question, Dr. Avery. Do you use this technique more often when you perform butt lifts or breast implants?" Wilson asks.

Edwards answers, "Actually, isn't this the technique you used to attach the face on to your last face transplant patient?"

Jackson starts, "Well, I've never actually done-"

Wilson interrupts, "Sidebar. What do you find more fulfilling- liposuction or body sculpting?"

Edwards continues, "Sidebar. Isn't it true you've completed more successful skin grafts than any other doctor in this hospital?"

"Um.. yeah. What are you doing?" Jackson asks the two.

"Wilson, are you implying, that Dr. Averys work isn't important because he's a plastic surgeon?" Ivy asks the intern.

She looks scared, "Um, no-"

"Good. Because remember that his mentor was my older brother, who taught Dr. Avery the importance of healing and helping those using his specialty. Not to mention that Dr. Averys skills as a plastic surgeon is the reason I didn't lose my leg or arm after the crash. If he hadn't stopped the infection, I wouldn't be a surgeon anymore," Ivy smiles at her.

Jackson chuckles before looking at the photographer, "Larry. You know, we've got a free station right over here if you want to try your hand at some actual surgery. Please."

Ivys phone then starts ringing, she sees that it's April, "Whats up? I'm bored so give me something."

"Good, I've got something. Look, I did a ride along today, and we got this call- a kid about 10 years old, hit and run," "Damn it. He's still locked down. We can't intubate." "Can you ventilate him?" "Barely. His SATs are still in the gutter." "Okay, let's get him backboarded. We need to load and go." "Seattle Pres is slammed, so they're diverting us to Redmond, but that's an hour away and this kid...he doesn't have an hour, Ivy. He doesn't." She hears over the phone.

She walks towards the windows, "Okay. How are his vitals?"

"Bad. We've got no airway. I can't crike. He's got sub-q emphysema. He will die en route if we have to go way out there. He will die," April tells her.
