Halloween

Ivy groans as she and Jackson walk down the hospital hallway, "I'm only three and a half months pregnant and my back is already starting to kill me. I feel like this is your fault."

They get to the nurses desk and see the residents hanging around as Jackson gets a chart from Murphy, "You're right. It's my fault. After the party tonight, I'll give you a back message."

"Oh, that sounds amazing," they hear a slam and see Edwards run into the door, "Edwards, you just had surgery. Don't you want to go home?"

She shakes her head as Wilson tries not to laugh. Jackson nods, "Why do I feel like that will be you after the twins are born?"

"Oh, cause it will be. We have busy lives and I'm not going to let two babies being violently pushed out of a tiny hole in my body stop me from working," Ivy tells him, using hand motions as well.

"Ivy, I love you, which is why I'm saying this. You are taking at least two weeks maternity leave while I take at least two weeks of paternity leave. We bond with our babies and then figure out how to be fellows, parents and owners of a hospital," he cups her face.

"Why is everything so twoey? Two weeks, two babies, two specialties, two of us owning the hospital. Seriously, I thought six was my lucky number," Ivy rants, turning to head to Webbers room to check on him for Catherine.

Jackson sighs, "Only five and a half more months, only five and a half more months."

Ivy walks into Webbers room to see the residents and Bailey gathered around his bed, "Hello, all. I need a report for Catherine before she flies out here herself."

Bailey gestures around at the residents, "He's letting one of them do his next surgery."

"What? Are you out of your mind?" Ivys head snaps to him.

"They can do it. I want Bailey to watch them in the E.R. today and then decide," Webber tells them.

"Okay, now the question is, who's telling Catherine that you're letting a second year do your surgery? Cause it sure ain't going to be me," Ivy shakes her head.

"Oh, it'll be fine. Don't worry about it."

"Thats all I do. Literally, all I do, every day. Okay, let's head to the E.R.," Ivy waves the residents to follow her.

Ivy and Jackson end up getting a patient together, "Victor Brown- 30 year old male mauling victim. Vitals are stable."

She nods, "Lets get him to trauma. What mauled him?"

The patient spoke, "He-he tackled me. He came out of nowhere."

"Wait. Who is he?" Jackson asks.

"The guy- he was snarling and growling."

"I'm sorry. A person did this to you?" Ivy asks.

The patient looks up at her, "He started eating my face like some sort of..."

Murphy answers, "Zombie?"

Ivy hears Hunt call for Murphy and Edwards as they get Victor into a trauma room. They then hear Murphy scream. Ivy looks at Jackson, "Oh, my dear God. Happy freakin Halloween."

"He didn't die. They shot him in the heart twice and he didn't die. I thought he was just crazy," Victor tells the couple.

"He was just crazy," Jackson numbs the wound on Victor's face.

Victor shouts, "Then why didn't he die?!"

Jackson grabs ahold of his face, "I've got a needle right next to your face. I need you to calm it down, okay?"

Ivy asks, "Is there any pain elsewhere?"

"Its just sore. And stiff. Oh, my God. Is this rigor mortis?" Victor tries sitting up.

"Victor, zombies aren't real. We know this, right?" Ivy speaks to him gently.

"You. You should...qua-quarantine," Victor starts to speak very slowly as his monitors go off.

Ivy grabs his hand, "Victor, squeeze my hand. Did you hit your head when he attacked you?"

Victor just looks at her, "You should quarantine-"

Jackson turns his face to him, "Can you smile for me, buddy? No, he's having a stroke."

Ivy looks over his neck, "Theres a pulsatile mass. Could be damage to the carotid. Maybe a pseudoaneurism."

"All right, I'll get the ultrasound. Book an O.R.," Jackson tells her.

She nods, reaching for the phone.

Ivy and Jackson are standing in surgery, "Ugh. Tbats one jacked up carotid."

"Yeah, lets go ahead and prep the synthetic graft," Jackson tells a nurse.

"Okay. Starting it now."

Jackson looks over at his fiance, "What are you going to the party as again?"

She smiles, "I'm going simple. I have an orange shirt with two little jack o'latern faces on the belly. What did you decide?"

"I honestly have no clue. Maybe I'll just go in a suit and be a businessman with a hot as hell fiance," Jackson smirks at her.

"So original. You know, we should go in family costumes next year with the twins. Oh they'll be so cute," Ivy pictures.

Jackson and the rest of the O.R staff chuckle at the excitement in Ivys voice.

They get Victor out of surgery and go to talk to him once he's woken up, "Is my face fixed?"

Jackson tells him, "Not quite yet. Our first priority was repairing your injured carotid, which was damaged when you were attacked."

"Oh, God. The zombie-where is he? Hes-hes not quarantined? Is that where this is? I-I've been quarantined, haven't I? Oh, God, I knew it. I saw this thing on cable about these rituals in Haiti, and I thought they were all crap, but you've got me quarantined," Jackson and Ivy share looks throughout Victor's speech.

Jackson gestures around, "Except you're not quarantined...this is the I.C.U.,"

"Which means...you wouldn't tell me the truth anyway. They've got you on a gag order, don't they? Because that's what they do-the C.D.C.-thdy don't want you to tell me the truth-"

"Okay. Hey, Victor! Victor, hey! Hey, hey! Listen to me! Victor, you are not under quarantine. If you were, I wouldn't be allowed in here. You are in the I.C.U., which is where we take patients after surgery. You were attacked by a normal guy who took a bunch of drugs, lost his mind, and attacked you. He didn't die when he was shot because he's got a condition called situs inversus, which put his heart on the opposite side of his chest," Ivy says in one breath, Jackson holds back a laugh.

"Thats...thats random."

Ivy nods, "Yeah, completely random, and not in the least but supernatural. And really, honestly, when you think about it, isn't that, like, a hundred times scarier than some...zombie apocalypse?"

Victor accepts this, "Yeah. Yeah, okay, I guess it is."

Jackson and Ivy leave the room, "See, you got this mom thing down and we don't even know what they are."

She smiles, "Yeah, I guess. Now, time to get ready for Halloween!"

"How are you this energized after surgery and being three and a half months pregnant?" Jackson pulls her to him.

"Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Just wait until next year. They won't even be a year old yet but I'm gonna go all out," Ivy kisses him.

Jackson grabs her waist, "You know. I think we should skip the party and stay home. Have a little party by ourselves. Enjoy it before I'm dealing with three kids next year."

Ivy scoffs, "Okay. You deal with three kids on Halloween, but I'll be dealing with three kids every other day of the year."

"Sounds like a plan," Jackson nods.

"Good. Take us home, cause we are more tired than we say we are and you owe me a back message."

"Yes I do. Let's go."

AN: I know, I know. This is a very short part and I'm sorry. Next one should be longer.

The timeline for Grey's is really weird and so I'm going based on my own timeline.

I'll be revealing the gender of the babies in about 2 or 3 parts.

QoC: how do you think Ivy will react to Cristina and Meredith's fight?

Thank you for all the reads and votes and comments!
