Reassurance

Ivy grumbles as she sees Arizona watching Callie kiss another woman, "You know, it's creepy to stare at people. Especially when they're kissing."

Arizona jumps in surprise, "Oh, uh, yeah, uh..."

"Come on, let's go to the pit," Ivy gestures walking through the doors and into the elevator. She gets down to the pit before Arizona and Callie, "What do we got?"

"Thirty year old male. He and his wife were hit by a car that crashed into their house. Abdominal confusions, right upper leg deformity, binder applied for unstable pelvis. Greys in there now.. Oh, Dr. Torres, Dr. Kepner is over by your patient," Wilson tells Callie, who changes near Ivy.

Owen directs, "Robbins trauma one, Shepherd-Avery, I need you in trauma two, Torres, be- oh, you're changing clothes. You know we have attendings lounges for that."

She shakes her head, "Yeah, no time for that," then walks over to her patient.

He looks to Ivy for an explanation but she just shrugs, "I don't know. Okay, let's go."

"Hang on. I'm gonna need a resident, too," Arizona tells them.

"Edwards, you're with Shepherd-Avery. Uh, Wilson, go with Robbins," Owen directs.

As Edwards cheers, Wilson argues, "No, that's not fair!"

Arizona nods, "Oh, I'm gonna pretend like I didn't hear that."

Wilson gestures to Ivy, "Sorry, but uh, Dr. Shepherd-Avery hasn't lost a  patient since December while Dr. Grey hasn't lost any since November. They are on a streak. Plus, Edwards has gotten a lot of Shepherd time with Dr. Shepherd. There should be a limit on working with the Shepherds."

"Now!"

Edwards ties Ivys trauma gown for her, "Has it really been no patients lost since December?"

She nods, "Yes. Which is even more impressive than Dr. Grey's zero because you're a trauma surgeon."

"Huh, okay, let's roll," Ivy smiles, walking into trauma two.

"Paramedics couldn't get a line. He's hypotensive and needs fluids ASAP. We should start a central line," Meredith tells them.

"Is this the husband?" Ivy asks.

Meredith nods, "Tom Vinson. His wife is next door. His B.P. is dropping. Let's order some o-neg."

Ivy looks over the pelvis, "Edwards, help me with this binder."

She nods, "Okay."

They quickly get to working the pelvis before he goes into v-fib, "He's in v-fib. Starting CPR," Owen calls out.

"Grab the paddles. Charge to 200. Charged. Clear," Ivy grabs the paddles before shocking him.

"He's back," Owen sees.

"His B.P. is not fluid-responsive. He's most likely bleeding inside. I need that ultr-" Meredith starts but is interrupted by Tom's screams.

Meredith grabs his arm, "Tom, listen. We got you, ookay? Lets push 50 of fentanyl. Tom, we have you. Its okay."

Tom wheezes out, "Oh, God. Where's Blair? Shes pregnant."

Ivy nods, "We know. She's here, in the hospital, Tom."

He grimances, "Is she hurt? Is our baby okay? I need to see her. Let me see her."

"Tom, you are seriously injured. You need to settle down and let us do our job," Ivy tries to tell him.

"Blair!" He yells.

"His pressures dropping again. Let's hang another unit. We need to take him straight up. We ready?" Owen asks.

"Yep!" They all say, moving.

As they wait for an elevator, Arizona wheels over a woman in a wheelchair, "Hey. You okay?"

Tom tries to move his head, "Blair, baby, I can't see you. I can't turn my head."

She grabs his hand, "Thats okay. It's okay. I'm right here, Tommy."

"Are-are you okay?"

"You know me. I'm...I'm tough," she smiles.

"Hows the baby?"

"Great. He's, um- he's doing backflips right now. I think he hears your voice," Blair touches her stomach.

Tom chuckles, "I'm not feeling so great."

The elevator dings and the couple says their I love yous before the group makes their way into the elevator.

Owen goes over the plan, "Okay, Grey, you and I will take care of the pelvic packing. Shepherd-Avery. Reduce the femur fracture."

She nods, "Any word on the driver?"

Webber walks by, "Alzheimers. He thinks he's in a shoe store."

Maggie walks by with an ice pack on her face. Ivy stands up, "Oh, my God. Are you okay?"

"Its nothing. It's fine. Did Derek call?" Maggie asks Meredith.

"Nope."

"He will," she reassures her.

Ivy walks with Meredith to the scrub room, "What was that about Derek?"

She shakes her head, "I'll tell you about it later."

In the O.R, Owen shakes his head, "Damn it, these pelvic veins are shattered. More lap pads. See that, Grey?"

Meredith sticks her hand in, "I see it. I got it. Clamp. 3-0 silk."

"Suction Edwards. More. Lap pads. You know, Jackson had just opened a bottle of wine for us, the twins were asleep, we were ready to have a calm night at home. Then, boom, I was paged. More lap pads. Pack it in there. Do you know the last time Jackson and I could have a night together where the twins went to bed that easily?" Ivy complains to the group.

"I'm sorry, but you were needed here. I'm sure you'll get a night off soon," Owen reassures her.

Ivy glares at him, "Sure. Maybe when the twins graduate."

Meredith lays on a gurney in the tunnels as Ivy sits on another one, "Hey."

She turns around, "Geez. Why are you...lurking in the dark. You're lurking," Ivy grumbles.

"I can't sleep."

Ivy lays on the gurney, "I'm tired, so if you're gonna continue to lurk, don't stare at me."

"You know Derek better than anyone. Better than Amelia. Better than me. Do you think he's capable of cheating?" Meredith asks.

"Mer...what happened? Why are you asking this?"

Alex has joined them, "It was stolen-some chick stole it and answered it."

Maggie walks up to them as Meredith asks, "Hows the driver?"

"So sad. He had Alzheimers, but then he didn't have Alzheimers, but then didn't want to have killed someone, so now he's gonna go ahead and keep the Alzheimers, that isn't really Alzheimers," Maggie sits next to Ivy, how rests her head on her shoulder.

"Did Webber talk to you?"

"About what."

"Nothing."

Alex says another idea, "Hey, maybe a kid stole it, and his mom picked it up."

Maggie gives Ivy some of ther yogurt, "Stole what?"

"Derek's phone. We're talking Meredith off a ledge. Well, I am. McBaby is just sitting there," Alex tells her.

"I'm trying to think if I could believe my brother to be a cheater. And I don't think he would. I mean, this is the guy that told me any kidn of cheating-on test or on people, is bad," Ivy thinks.

"Here, let me try. He was in surgery, and a nurse picked it up. They pick up our phones all the time. He was in the lab, and a research assistant picked it up. He was in the bathroom, and a janitor picked it up. He was in an accident and a paramedic picked it up," Maggie lists.

"Whoa. Let's not talk about my brother in an accident. I-I don't know if I could handle that," Ivy sighs.

She shrugs, "Sorry. It's not the best option, but viable. I'm just saying, don't go looking for zebras here. I think Derek is-"

Meredith interrupts her, "He's done this before."

"What?"

"Moved to a new city, got a new job, ignored his wife's calls, met a girl, fell in love, started over. He left Addison when the marriage got hard, moved to Seattle, met me in a bar. What if he's doing the same thing now?" Meredith asks.

Ivy stands up, "Addison and Derek's marriage was struggling for a while before that happened."

Meredith shakes her head, "about weren't even talking to Derek at that point."

"But I was talking to Addison. Look, I know my brother, he wouldn't be so stup-okay, he can be stupid. But he loves you. More than he ever loved Addison. He wouldn't cheat on you. Especially since he knows I would kill and probably get Alex to help me," Ivy nods to Alex.

He nods, "Yup."

Ivy giggles, "You and Derek are proof that love exists. That there is hope and that it works. If it weren't for you guys showing that it's possible, I would never have agreed to go out with Jackson. I'm rooting for you."

Meredith sighs, "Well, somewhere in Georgetown, there's a woman-a very tall, happy, perky woman with a lot of great hair. What if she met Derek in a bar? What if he fell for her? I'm pretty sure her friends are rooting for her, too. Listen, I'm not a zebra in this scenario. I wish I were, but I'm not. I'm just a horse."

Meredith's pager starts going off, "Streaks are over."

Meredith runs out as Ivy sighs, "Derek is stupid but not that stupid. At least, I hope not."
