, the two having their daily face time during the mornings after he had finished talking to Meredith. Derek was back in Washington, D.C. for a meeting about the project he's working with the government.
"It's great, you should come next time so we could spend some quality time together." Derek nodded, just as Allison took a sip of her coffee, "We haven't done that in a long time."
"Believe me, I would love to but we're just so busy. You with going back and forth from Seattle and D.C. for meetings, and me covering your service." Allison told him as she walked down the hospital hallway towards the attendings lounge.
"Don't forget the fact that you're still afraid of planes." Derek pointed out. It's true ever since the plane crash when they went to Boise, Allison hasn't stepped foot in another plane.
"I am not." Allison lied, narrowing her eyes at him.
"Are, too."
Allison made her way to sit down on the couch inside the lounge, holding up the phone in her hand so Derek could see her face, "Alright, so I have news."
"Let me guess, you're pregnant." Derek said, folding his arms as they rested on the table.
Allison narrowed her eyes, "How did you know?"
"I am your best friend, I know you. Plus, you've been eating a lot and you're emotional everyday." Derek pointed out, "I was also guessing."
"You're going to be Uncle Derek." Allison smiled at the screen.
"I'm going to be Uncle Derek." He grinned.

The Avery's had another check-up appointment with Dr. Matthews to make sure they're baby is fine. The two are ecstatic to become parents, although they have their own shares of being worried of not being amazing parents. Allison didn't grow up with any parents half of her life, but was raised by an Aunt who could care less about her. While Jackson was scared of becoming a bad father, he never had a father-figure to look up to.
The two exited the O.B. room, with another sonogram picture in Allison's hands. "Look at this cute little fetus."
"We aren't telling anyone after the first trimester." Jackson reminded her, the two eager to let their friends know.
"Two more weeks." Allison said, although she told Derek, Jackson didn't mind since he told April. The two came to an agreement that they could tell one person of their choice, which is why the two chose their best friends. "Also, you have to tell your mom and you're going to figure out how to do that."

Allison walked towards her friends in the main lobby, as she noticed Meredith holding two different containers filled with some food. "Hey, guys."
"Hey, try these." Meredith handed Allison a tupperware causing the Avery doctor to open it, finding some waffles and berries inside of it.
"Did you make them?" Allison cautiously asked, remembering the incident with the eggs during residency.
"No, Amelia did." Meredith assured. Allison smiled at the mention of the younger Shepherd. With Derek in D.C. working on his project, Amelia had been staying in town to help Meredith with their kids and occasionally Allison asks her to come to the hospital for an extra hand.
"Holy crap, these are amazing." Allison groaned after taking her first bite, "Remind me to thank her later."
"Hey." Owen greeted the three doctors before looking at Cristina, "The, uh, first candidate is here and waiting in the conference room."
"I'm on my way now." Cristina assured him. Owen nodded and walked away from the three of them.
Cristina Yang decided to take Burke's hospital in Zurich and is leaving Seattle. When Allison heard she was upset, she couldn't believe that now it's just going to be Meredith, Allison and Alex—if he ever comes back to Grey-Sloan.
"So, I still can't believe he's making you pick your replacement." Meredith commented, the three doctors making their way to the conference room, slowly. Allison continued to munch on the waffles.
"I'm interviewing Dr. Russell's replacement, not mine." Cristina corrected, "Which I volunteered to do, by the way."
Allison scoffed, "Come on, we all know you were the one leading Cardio and not Russell."
"It's a punishment—it's like making you clean the apartment you're vacating." Meredith pointed out.
"No, Owen knows this is the right move for me." Cristina assured them, closing her container of waffles Meredith brought for her, "He's been nothing but supportive."
"Something's coming." Meredith said, "I can feel it in my bones."
The three reached the conference room, where they could see the candidate through the window sitting down on the desk waiting for Cristina to interview him.
"Ew." Allison and Meredith said unison.
"I hate his face." Cristina shook her head.
Meredith turned to look at her friend, "Okay, now look at me in the eye and tell me this isn't a punishment."
Cristina held the waffle piece in her hand and looked at their blonde friend, "Thank you for this waffle."
Once Cristina walked away and entered the conference room, both Allison and Meredith's eyes were trained at them. Allison pressed her lips into a thin line, "He's definitely punishing her."
"Yeah." Meredith agreed.

"Okay, you'll access the spine through the retroperitoneum and I'll perform the fusion with bone graft between L5 and S1." Allison told Meredith, the two looking at the scans in front of them.
"Sounds like a plan."
"Cristina really is moving to Zurich." Allison said looking down at her friend.
"Yeah." Meredith sighed. "So have you seen Amelia? It's her first day working here without Derek in the hospital."
"Not yet, but I saw she had a surgery on the O.R. board." Allison said, the two continued to look at the scans as they planned their surgery later that afternoon.

Dr. Bailey gave her patient treatment without the parents consent, although Braden seemed fine thanks to the treatment this meant legal action should be taken. When legal came so did Jackson since he was a member of the board.
