water, the ferry boat was rarely full in the mornings and the two best friends loved it that way. It gave them time to think, to enjoy the peace and see Seattle. It became a tradition they used to go on ferry boat rides whenever they could together.  Derek had one more flight to D.C. so he could resign and come back to Seattle—for good.

The two making their way back to the benches to sit down, "You know when I was away, I went to see my mother, she said I was tired and miserable—which I was. She told me to get it together."

"She said it...with no sympathy, I'm guessing." Allison raised a brow having been told stories about Mrs. Shepherd and Derek's sisters.

Derek nodded, "She said, '.'"

"I'm glad she talked some sense into you, Shep." Allison nodded, smiling. "I'm glad you're going to stay here for good—right?"

"Allie, I've been missing out on everything in my life. I mean, I'm watching my kids grow up on a computer. I don't want to miss my family. I don't want to miss another second." Derek shook his head. He was staying in Seattle for good—Allison knew that but she wanted to be reassured and Derek didn't mind assuring, he set his foot down. "I want to coach soccer, go to ballet recitals. I don't need to change the world. Clipping aneurysms, stopping the bleeds—that's the fun."

"That's changing the world with our hands Saving someone's life. That's more than enough." Allison agreed, "I'm glad your back, Shep."

"Me too." Derek nodded. "We should do this more often again."

Allison nodded, "You, me, the kids and Jackson."

"I agree." Derek and Allison looked at the view they had, the two enjoying the moment and savoring it. Both of them not knowing that this was going to be their last—some good things just come to an end.

Allison paced back and forth from the hospital's on-call room as she waited for Jackson to show up. The two haven't had sex for awhile ever since baby Mark died, and Allison felt like she was ready to resume that part of their life.

The door opened and she stopped, and her eyes came in contact with green-eyes. "Jackson, I am your wife and I'm ready for us to—"

She didn't even get to finish when she felt a pair of lips on hers. The two kissing one another like their life depending on it. The next thing they knew, Allison was straddling his lap as Jackson held her sides. Their scrubs landed on the floor as moans could be heard inside the on-call room.

Once they were done, Jackson had to check up on his patient giving a light kiss on Allison's lips before he left, the two going their separate ways. Allison made her way to sit down next to Meredith on one of the Nurses stations when the phone rang causing her to pick it up.

"Grey-Sloan Memorial." Allison said, once the phone was against her ear, getting a pen ready not knowing what the call was about.

"The lady from the other end asked, causing Allison to frown knowing he wasn't in today.

"I'm sorry, he's not in today but his wife is." Allison informed, handing the phone over to Meredith, who furrowed her brows in confusion.

"This is Dr. Shepherd's wife." Meredith answered, "Uh, no...he's not here. Can I take a message for you?" Allison handed her the pen she had in her hand and Meredith scribbled down Derek's name on the notepad in front of her, "Oh, I thought he was there...sure no problem. Okay, thank you." Once she hung up Meredith frowned her brows, "Well that was weird."

Allison raised a brow, "What was?"

"That was the White House calling. Derek never showed up to his meeting this morning."

"Maybe his flight got delayed or something." Allison assured her friend, while she reassured herself.

***

"Maybe he forgot his phone, like he did when he came back from D.C." Allison nodded assuring her friend, the two walking next to each other. Meredith called Derek while Allison texted his phone.

"." Derek's voicemail was heard, "

"Hey." Meredith greeted leaving a message, "So, I just got off the phone with the White House, and apparently you missed your meeting. I don't know what's going on, but you probably owe them a phone call. Allie's been blowing up your phone with text messages—"

"Watch out!" Interns called out, running by pushing Allison and Meredith in the process, "Coming through!"

"Hey!" Meredith and Allison said at the same time, turning around to face them and Allison looked at them, "What's your problem?"

"Sorry." The intern apologized, "There was a plane crash."

The interns continued to run down to the E.R., both attending froze at the mention of the accident. Allison and Meredith slowly looked at one another and Allison stuttered, "Did he—"

"Yeah." Meredith nodded. The two snapped out of their shocked expressions and ran down to the E.R.

Allison pushed the door open for the both of them as they just stared at the injured people inside the emergency room, Allison and Meredith immediately went back to their own plane crash experience. They could practically hear Arizona's cries of pain, Cristina asking where her shoe went, Mark dying over and over again, Allison groaning in pain after taking out a piece of glass, searching for Derek, Lexie banging a seatbelt against the metal that was crushing her and Meredith's cries for Derek and Lexie.

It felt too much.

"Grey!" Owen called out for Meredith needing her help for a patient, although she was off, Meredith followed him inside the trauma room.

"I-I'm—" Allison tried to utter a word before she quickly left the E.R and made her way inside the supply closet, closing the door behind her as her forehead rested against the door letting out a shaky breath.

"There was a plane crash." Arizona spoke up, startling Allison, who turned around quickly. Arizona's tears rolled down her eyes causing Allison to tear up as she joined Arizona on the floor, sitting next to her.

"I know."

Meredith walked inside and closed the door behind her glancing at them, Arizona spoke up again, "There was a plane crash."

"Yeah, I know." Meredith nodded, joining the two on the floor panting, trying to catch her breath.

"But we're okay." Arizona assured them, shaking her head, "'Cause it's not us. It's not us, so we're—we're okay."

"We are okay." Meredith breathed in, fixing her coat, trying to calm herself down. Allison nodded sniffling as Meredith repeated the words, "We are okay."

"It's not us." Allison whispered.

"Did you see the guy out there?" Arizona asked, not looking at either of them, her mind bringing her back to the scene of their plane crash "His leg is severed beneath the knee. Did you—did you see him?"

Meredith frowned, looking over at Arizona, "I did."

"I did, too." Allison sniffed, looking up at the ceiling hoping tears wouldn't fall down as she recalled the E.R. being filled with the patients, "We're okay."

There was a small pause before Meredith spoke again, "That girl—she can't find her boyfriend."

Allison held out her hand to the both of them, causing Meredith to hold her right hand while Arizona held her left. Allison let out a sigh, "We're okay."

"We're okay." Arizona confirmed.

Meredith looked in front of her, "We're okay."

Allison looked at the C.T. scans waiting for the results to see if her patient had a brain bleed and thankfully she didn't. She had ordered Stephanie to prepare an O.R. so the patient could have her surgery with Dr. Hunt.

Jackson looked down at his wife, who looked in deep thought. The sense of someone watching her caused Allison to turn her head to look at her husband. "Did you come to check on me because of the plane crash?"

"No." Jackson shook his head, lying to her, "I—"

"It's okay." Allison said, lifting herself up from the chair and made her way towards her husband, who wrapped his arms around her, "I'm okay. I talked with Meredith and Arizona. We're okay."

Jackson nodded, letting out a sigh of relief. His lips coming in contact with her forehead, "I'm glad, you're okay."

Allison sighedburying her face inside his neck, staying like that for a moment. In that moment, everything felt right, she felt safe, home, she felt happy.
