⇢ CHAPTER 51

gazed at Holly's peaceful face as she brought her head back to let out a laugh, clearly finding his joke hilarious.

She chuckled, wiping an imaginary tear as she faced him and the two stopped in front of Meredith's door, "Well," She pointed at the door, "this is my stop."

"O-Oh," Logan nodded, stuffing his hands in his pocket as he looked at her, "yeah, I see."

Holly grabbed the key out of her pocket and stepped forward to unlock the door before she backed up, taking a step closer to him instead, "I had a good time-- a-and I wouldn't mind going out again."

"T-That's good to hear." Logan breathlessly smiled, the close proximity with her got him flustered as he felt his own cheeks redden, "I'll call you when your schedule is free and we can do this again."

"Great." Holly smiled brightly up at him before reaching up as Logan leaned down-- their lips brushing before Jackson opened the front door.

"Oh," Jackson winced, pointing at the two, "sorry, guys, I thought someone was standing at the front door."

"Hey, Jackson," Holly pressed her lips together as she nodded her head towards Logan, "can you, uh, just give us a minute?"

"Yeah, sure." Jackson nodded, leaning against the doorframe which made Logan awkwardly chuckle and Holly facepalm.

Holly quirked an eyebrow, "Jackson."

"Oh, you meant, like, a private moment alone?" Jackson scratched the back of his neck before nodding again, "I'll go make myself busy."

"Thank you." Holly muttered with a sigh before looking back at Logan, who failed at hiding a smile which made the two laugh lightly at the situation, "I'm sorry for that."

"No, it was fine." Logan chuckled again, "You're kinda cute when you're ticked off."

Holly scoffed as she shook her head, a small smile on her face, "I-I was not 'ticked off'."

"Mm." Logan squinted at her playfully as the two began to slowly lean closer once more, "I'm sure you weren't."

Holly squinted back at him, looping her hands behind his neck, "I wasn't." She brought him closer to her-- making their faces barely an inch away as she whispered, "I just really wanted to kiss you."

To say Logan was slightly surprised by Holly planting her lips on his was an understatement-- to say he was feeling anything other than pure bliss along with Holly was also an understatement. The two continued their kiss as Logan eventually built the courage to hold her waist and deepen their kiss-- things beginning to get steamy before they heard a distant voice calling out.

It was Jackson's.

"You guys want snacks?!" He yelled from the kitchen, making the two separate as they began to laugh. They were still in close proximity as Logan looked down at her and whispered, "I should go."

"Yeah..." Holly nodded, pecking his lips once more before she let go and smiled at him, "Good night."

Logan smiled back, waving lightly as he stepped off Meredith's porch, "Good night."

It was Zola's birthday party. Jackson held a drink close to him as his eyes would occasionally land on the newest happy couple laughing at each others jokes, smiling at each other, sharing stories or kisses-- the latter making him the most uncomfortable.

Logan and Holly were currently chatting with April as Alex slowly approached Jackson, a quirked eyebrow aimed at him as he tried to see who his gaze was fixated on, "Dude, are you staring at Holly?"

"What?" Jackson quickly averted his eyes, taking a quick sip from his drink before he shook his head, "No."

"Mm." Alex nodded, clearly not believing him before he squinted over to see Logan's arm loosely around Holly's waist-- catching Jackson beginning to scowl at him for it, "Your eyes and face say otherwise."

Jackson sighed, taking another sip from his drink as he decided to confide in Alex-- the alcohol possibly affecting him in that decision, "She's happy. I'm trying to let her be happy so I'm going to stay over here and just drink my drink."

"With a scowl on your face directed at them?" Alex added, a chuckle at the end of his sentence as he looked back at the redhead.

Jackson tilted his head at Alex, "You want me to revoke our invitation to the house?"

"Hell," Alex offered, preparing his face since he didn't want to lose the opportunity to live in a house with Jackson, April, and Holly because the house had nice benefits, "if you want, I'll scowl with you."

Jackson rolled his eyes at him before turning back to the lovely couple to see the two smiling at each other, "I'm getting another drink."

"Page Dr. Holly Kepner." Mark instructed a nurse as he and Jackson worked on a rhinoplasty.

Jackson's head bounced up, "She's in surgery-- why are we calling her here?"

"Because--" Mark started, before immediately stopping as he saw the door open, "Red!" Mark smiled under his mask, "Glad to have you join us, huh, Avery?"

Jackson quirked an eyebrow, but before he could respond, Holly began, "Why am I here?"

"Well," Mark answered, "Julia and I are going on a date if all goes well with my rock-paper-scissors match with Robbins after this so I was wondering if you and Logan would like to triple date with us-- assuming Derek and Meredith come along."

Holly snorted, "You know Meredith's not gonna want to go to a triple date." She squinted at the older man, "Is that really all you needed me for?"

Mark shrugged as Jackson practically worked on the rhinoplasty alone, "Double date?"

Holly rolled her eyes, "I'm leaving."

Mark scoffed,"Red!"

Holly nodded at a nurse to open the door before announcing her departure, "Bye, Mark."

Jackson snickered as Holly left, continuing to work for a few moments before clearing his throat, "So, uh, Holly and Logan..."

"Yeah?" Mark frowned his eyebrows, keeping his eyes on Jackson's work as he asked, "What about them?"

"Nothing. Um," Jackson cleared his throat again, "just wondering if you, uh, thought they were gonna last or--"

"They're cute." Mark replied, "Not as cute as Julia and I, but they could get there." He shrugged before looking up at Jackson's face-- immediate realization came to him, "Oh, my God--"
