Chapter Thirty Four

"Do you wanna see what I painted?" Jackie dragged me by my arm into another room. She woke up early today with an ecstatic attitude. I barely even got the chance to process my surroundings when I left the bedroom.

"Yeah, okay." I rubbed my eyes and yawned as we walked down the hallway into an open court. Glass covered the top and there were so many plants everywhere. It was a greenhouse. Jackie led me through and stopped at a table full of art supplies. There were paintbrushes and jars of paint, along with an easel and thick paper canvas.

On it was a beautiful portrait of a woman holding a flower close to her heart. I was surprised at the detail and wondered if Jackie could secretly be a genius. "You painted this?"

Jackie nodded. "Do you like it?"

"Like it? This is amazing!" I looked closely. Even when I was younger I couldn't draw this well.
