Chapter Thirty Three

It took us a day and a half to get back to the Palace. Kai and I stood on top of a tall hill that was many yards away from the stone wall that surrounded it. I could feel the wind kissing my skin softly, helping me with my decision. I took one step down and Kai grasped my wrist.

"I am unsure of this battle strategy." He mumbled.

"We have to try." I looked up and saw that he was staring at me with sad eyes. It was the first time I could see the worry on his face. "I know that you don't want me to get hurt. But don't worry so much. Let's just focus on the main goal. Getting inside."

He exhaled and nodded reluctantly. I could tell that he was conflicted, but I felt so at ease that he was willing to go along with what I had to say. A change that I very much enjoyed seeing.

"Tie my hands behind my back." I placed my arms behind me and turned my shoulder at him. He slid his fingers down my arm and carefully wrapped cloth around my fists. "You have to tie it tighter."
