Pointers

A small object was thrown at my chest. Now, you should understand by now that I am very immortal, so I wasn't so concerned about being hit by explosives. Unless, of course, it was a water bomb. Not that it would kill me, but it would hurt quite a lot.

The object exploded.

To minimise damage to the surroundings, I absorbed the explosion into my body. I then walked up to her, asking, "Where did you even get those?"

"What are you?" She yelled, pointing the knife at me.

"Please don't cut me with that," I requested. "You'll be throwing away your only weapon."

Luckily for me, she was a lot more hesitant about attacking me after seeing how I just absorbed a bomb. I still kept some distance away from her as I tried to explain the situation. "I know you value your life, so I need to brief you on a few matters, okay?"

She got up slowly, not setting down the knife.

"What do you know about Elementals?" I asked her.

When I saw her spiteful glare after I mentioned the word 'Elemental', I told her, "It's fine. I'm not going to hurt you."

"I heard about them," She replied. "From the lab."

"What did you hear?" I tried to guide her train of thought.

"I... I heard about them wanting to create one," She said, her other hand clutching her head. "T-They wanted to make humans into freaks!"

"First of all, ouch," I responded. "Second of all, that sounds illegal."

"You're from the lab, aren't you?" She shouted. "They created you, didn't they? Are you after my life because I escaped?"

"I wasn't created by whatever this lab is," I folded my arms. "I'm here to protect you, not to kill you. I even patched you up. Why would I help you if my intent was to kill you?"

"To gain my trust."

"Obviously that didn't work out, did it?"

I let out a sigh before telling her, "Look, it's not like I'm gonna shove you inside a cage and let you rot there, okay? I just have a few pointers to give. Take notes, okay?"

I started listing. "Do not under any circumstances leave this building. Do not travel around freely. Stay in your room and don't trust anybody. If someone offers you a wish, do not make one. If you're in trouble, just yell as loudly as you can."

I stepped away from her, putting my hands up. "If you have precious belongings, keep them close and never give them up."

Just like that, I left the room. I had turned into flames and made my way to the main floor of the club. That human I was supposed to protect was still injured from being shot. I doubt she would end up doing anything like running around town.

The only thing left was to locate the other Elementals and their humans.

I appeared on the roof of a nearby building outside the club, making sure to check the area for any signs of Water before taking up my physical form. I sat on the edge of the roof, looking out over the city. My thought was that if I sat there long enough, an Elemental would probably try to push me off. Trust me, it happens a lot more than you would think.

I had already memorised the faces of the humans of the other Elementals.

"How's it going?" I asked.

Just as expected, someone pushed me off the building. I reformed myself on the roof once again, saying, "I knew you were coming for me!"

Silver hair and silver eyes. Let me introduce you to the Elemental of Space.

Now, Space is a really weird Elemental mostly cause her abilities don't really seem to make much sense. Frankly, I would not want to deal with her at all.

"Fire," She addressed. "Where is your human representative?"

"First off, are you sure you should be leaving your human unattended?" I asked her. "Heard Dark is out for blood."

"I've fended her off," Space replied.

"Makes sense," I agreed. "She does love to just hit and run."

She pushed up her glasses as she said, "Tell me where your human representative is and we can make this quick."

"Yeah, about that..."

A fireball I shot at her went off course. I was just looking at her until my body just fell to the ground. I was having some difficulty lifting my body. I then appeared high in the air, the gravity around me so high that when I crashed into the ground below, it created a large crater. My body reformed quickly as Space appeared, holding my head.

"Mind tricks won't work on me," I told her.

"I won't try to do anything on a mind that doesn't exist," Space commented.

My head was blown apart, and my body fell back. Before my body could fall back too far, I caught myself, my face already reformed. Space's hand was burnt, but the burns receded just as quickly as my face has reformed.

"No point in fighting you guys," I said to her. "I can't win the game like this."

"I've been hearing the thoughts of many humans in this town," Space told me, pointing at her head. "I've been attempting to locate that human. And it appears there are several who are rather... shocked about some sort of game they've gotten involved in."

"Give me the location of your human and I'll give you mine," I offered.

She smirked. "I am not Earth. I will not take any offers."

"And about the point of fighting you," She said, appearing some distance away. "It is obviously to stall time."

The gravity about me changed and I was falling sideways towards Space. I dug a hand into the road, but the gravity was much too strong. My arm was ripped off. Space clasped my neck as I fell past her. I clung onto her torso and flipped, but I found my entire upper body to be erased. I fell through a portal which appeared below me. my body once again reformed.

I was stuck in infinite falling as Space compressed two portals side by side.

I turned my body into flames and managed to barely slip between the minuscule gap between the portals. I simply gained some distance from Space just for her to appear in front of me again. I got low and picked up a pebble off the ground. I tossed it in her direction, the pebble glowing bright red.

She vanished before the pebble exploded.
