Bombs

Damn... this is gonna be tough.

The sideways gravity thing Space put on me wore off, allowing me to land on the ground with about as much grace as a skidding car on a rainy day across the road. A bunch of humans were staring at me as I got up and brushed myself off. I waved at some of them, even seeing a couple of my regulars over at the bakery. I gave them a notice in advance, "Hi, my bakery's gonna be closed for some time. Hell, I might even move out of here completely."

I waved the people off before turning into flames.

After reforming on the nearest high place with no humans around, I started to track Space. She was moving everywhere across the city, constantly teleporting. It's pretty annoying to track considering she's never in one place. Yet, to get her out of the competition, I'm gonna need to get rid of that human...

Well, I give up.

I stuck out my thumb and pressed an imaginary trigger.

There was an explosion in the distance large enough to be seen by me. I quickly made my way over. I walked directly into the crater, observing the place. I commented out loud, "Well, isn't this an unexpected place to find you?"

I stopped directly in front of a human who was completely unharmed in the middle of the crater.

A relatively young boy, perhaps still a student. I crouched down and tapped his forehead, telling him, "You're gonna give me that item of yours or you're gonna die. Either way, you're not winning this competition."

I felt a distortion to my side.

A large chunk of my body collapsed and condensed into a single point. I turned to face Space, who was just getting up from the ground, her body reforming from a whole mess of nothing. She no longer had her glasses on her face as she glared at me. I shrugged before telling her, "You honestly should have seen that coming with the number of times I've done that to you."

"What is Dark doing?" Space grumbled.

I pointed a finger gun at her human. "Careful now."

Space was already completely reformed. She swiped her hand and her human appeared behind her. I smacked my own head, mumbling, "Of course."

I sighed, my body also reformed.

"Hey, did you know Water was telling me some crazy stuff?" I struck up a conversation with Space. "About his grand plan to become human or whatnot."

"Strange that you're not rushing," Space said to me.

I tapped my head. "Unfortunately for you, you can't read my mind, so you don't know my plan. Simply put, I've already got the advantage."

Space glanced back at her human.

"That human's now a bomb," I stated bluntly. "If you don't want him to go, you know, kaboom, I would suggest giving me the item."

Space paused for a few seconds before she chuckled. Her chuckling slowly became laughter. She pointed in my general direction, slightly to the side of me. I guess she couldn't exactly see straight without her glasses. "What happened? Aren't you always quick with the trigger? It's much easier to kill him right now, isn't it? What's stopping you?"

I sighed, folding my arms.

"You know the human I'm supposed to protect?" I started my story. "Yeah, she's kinda a buzzkill when it comes to the whole killing thing, so I'm trying my best to make her less mad at me. But hey, funny story, she isn't here right now, is she?"

I stuck out my thumb again to form the imaginary trigger.

Space clasped her hand together and my fist simply disappeared. While I was busy staring at the stump of my hand, My surroundings just changed. Good news, my hand's back. Bad news? I think I'm on Mars. You know, I've been thinking about a really effective way to kill everyone. Just take the sun away, wouldn't that be convenient?

I reappeared beside the human.

Space reached out and grabbed my neck, her hand sizzling when she did so. I sighed, telling her, "Just hand the item over. Space, you've lost."

There was a spark as lightning ran through Space's body. Unfortunately for me, our bodies don't exactly work as humans do, so it only tickled her. She glanced back at the human, who was shivering in his shoes. I snapped and a column of fire was shot at him. Space neutralised it by opening a portal. I slipped out of Space's grasp by turning into flames.

I appeared next to her human.

"Hey, do you have a family?" I asked him.

His eyes widened. I continued, "I won't be able to find them easily, but I could always just blow everything up. Think about it, if you give me the thing, you get to live and your family doesn't suffer either."

Space knocked me aside.

"I'm calling your bluff," Space scowled.

I hopped onto my feet and sighed. I shrugged and looked her human dead in the eye. "Good luck in the afterlife. Hopefully, you end up in Heaven."

"Who am I kidding?" I chuckled to myself. "Getting killed by an Elemental almost immediately puts you in Hell."

I clicked the imaginary trigger.

An explosion went off right in front of me, but something was strange. It was oddly... tame.

"Wow," I said monotonously. "Really baited me into that one."

The human was littered across the ground in chunks. Space herself was sweating. Knowing what she did, she probably needed a ton of concentration to do it. She waved her hand and the human reformed. He squeaked and shuffled away.

Space smirked. She reached down and picked up the human before vanishing.

I stood there, scratching the back of my head. Space was too difficult to handle. But huh, I wonder how Mevis and Air are doing.

Everything stopped in place.

I glanced to the side to see Time. I waved at him, asking, "What's the occasion?"

"This is a notice," Time stated. "Earth has been eliminated from the competition."

"I'm guessing Light did him in?" I asked.

Time shook his head. I raised an eyebrow. Time explained, "Earth has been eliminated after killing the human he was meant to protect."

Time vanished and everything was back to normal.

I sat down in the middle of the crater, a bunch of humans already trying to take pictures of me. How in the world am I going to eliminate Space?
