His eyes moved uncertainly as if anyone would come to destroy the peace of his life. Footsteps created a tone to match the heartbeat. He got up and walked towards a place.
Shoulders are in hard contact with another person. He utters annoyance telling the person to be careful in his steps.
Kenzo, as the role of the other person, stopped his steps.
"Harris Edwards, Business Management."
He mumbled a little before continuing his steps while flashing a faint smile. His eyes sparkled as if he had found something interesting.
Kenzo creates opportunities every time he explores the university. He meets Haris. In silence, Kenzo watched Haris reading a book of knowledge about plants and medicine.
Haris is a student majoring in Business Management, but he reads science books that guide other majors.
"Quinine is interesting, isn't it?"
He spontaneously closed the book showing the Quinine plant. He also closed the information book on grapefruit.
"If you mix them all at once slows down the heart rate, but the citronella seems hard to find if it's not in season. The grapefruit juice is very fresh."
"What are you talking about? I don't understand it."
Haris was just pretending. You know that.
"Furanocoumarin."
Haris sighed, "I really don't understand the direction of your conversation. I'm a Business Management student with little interest in the plant."
"You want to imitate Moriarty?"
"I don't understand."
Haris left Kenzo, who was just silent while chuckling silently. His hand reached out to wipe the surface of the book. Kenzo left his fingerprints.
The next day, he discovered that Haris had killed a student in the same department as him. Many police officers came to investigate all the students and gather evidence.
"Haris, you are good friends with him, right? Did you not get any information from Wein before the second of his death?"
Haris shook his head in response to the police officer's question, "Wein just said his heart disease is relapsing, and he is taking his medicine as usual."
"The type of drug Wein takes is quinine, which is usually used for malaria sufferers. We found furanocoumarins while dissecting his body."
Haris' shoulders stiffened, "The relationship?"
Haris tried not to know it at all.
The police showed the doctor's scientific data, which stated that the furanocoumarin taken at a time with quinine would accelerate the patient's side effects, with the worst condition being death.
Harris showed his surprise.
"Did he take illegal drugs?"
"No, he consumes a drink with a grapefruit-flavored drink. It seems he doesn't know this contradictory substance."
Haris lowered his face, "That's for sure, me too. We are students majoring in Business Management, not Science or related research."
"You don't know anyone who told you about this?"
"Hey, I'm busy researching business calculations and forecasts. Why should I bother researching about it."
"Isn't it appropriate to be close friends?"
Haris put his palms together, "He's not my friend," he muttered. His voice was filled with anger.
The police in charge of interrogating Haris looked at each other in confusion.
"Did you two fight?"
"Yes."
Haris should not have said their chronology, "He took my woman. He proudly introduced my woman as his lover. Whatever will be mine is mine. But the woman rejected me and chose her. I was annoyed."
Haris turned his attention to someone who had just entered the same room, Kenzo.
"Explain why your fingerprints are in 'Plants and Their Functions' and 'Malaria' books?"
Without further ado, they asked Kenzo, "I'm a science student."
"That's logical."
Haris exclaimed, "You were the one who told me about furanocoumarins and quinines."
His index finger pointed right in front of Kenzo. Hearing Haris's scream, his hands were now forced to be locked with iron on his wrists.
"Harris Edward, come with us. You are the prime suspect in the murder of Wein James Albertian. Allegedly due to the obsession with the woman you speak of."
"Hey, that doesn't make sense!"
Kenzo silently listened to Haris' screams, saying he wasn't the perpetrator. The door was creaking echoed into Kenzo's friend, who was alone in the room after the police and Haris died.
"He did? Haha, even though I just wanted to help him get free, he said it."
"If he runs a business, it looks like the stock will not run stable," Kenzo glanced at Yohannes, who had just entered the room to pick him up. Behind Yohannes' back were Lion and Andrea.
"Angela is still in the student organization room, and she's mad at you for making it difficult for her to calm the university atmosphere."
"She's the chief."
They laughed Kenzo's response, "So you chose to help that man but neglected your duty?"
"I don't."
"Hmm?"
Kenzo went, "We're out. They'll be back."
They are the police. Understanding Kenzo's intentions, the three friends followed Kenzo's steps toward the practicum room.
"After this, my task is done."
"What?"
Kenzo sat on the chair, letting them stand and listen to his explanation.
"Just wanted to imitate research on the mouse brain. It's different. I use humans because they are easier to control than animals."
Lion frowned, "But the mouse brain research used electrodes."
"Indeed, I have already designed the tool. Want to be the first to try it? The only side effect is brain cancer."
Whatever Kenzo does and thinks is very dangerous, including the simple research that will be his final semester assignment.
For the umpteenth time, they always get goosebumps, not because of fear but because of their attraction and admiration for Kenzo Obelix Pancracio.
Remembering it, they smile.
The tinkling sound of cans resounded. Cheers celebrating victory filled the room corner even though only four people were at one point between the corners.
Their activities are to express their joy at the new job Kenzo has received, Minister of Technology and Research.
It was not an exaggeration because Kenzo occupied the position not as a member but as a member of the Council or Chairman.
They drank down the ethanal, "I didn't think he would fall so deep!"
"Even though it's an order from his father, I'm still happy."
"His new research will carry out soon!"
"I'm waiting for him."
Yohannes hugged Lion's arm. He pointed the hand holding the canned drink in the air. Much higher than before, until the water dropped. Because of the dew from the packaging that adapts to the room temperature.
"Would he do it during that term? Or a lab from his other job?"
Andrea cleared her throat, thinking, "Perhaps in a laboratory outside his scope of authority. The proposal has been accepted, hasn't it?"
"I think so, but has it been approved?"
Yohannes grabbed his smartphone, did a contact search then called the person. As if understanding who Yohannes was talking to, they drank quietly as their eyes watched Yohannes' movements.
The look on Yohannes' face after cutting off the conversation with the other person over the voice phone changed their mood.
"The higher-ups accepted and approved the proposal, but those with more connections and full control over the financial flows hindered the process."
Kenzo has a lot of people who don't like him.
Angela sighed, "I'm not too surprised."
"So do we."
Andrea woke up, her eyes looking up at the ceiling.
"If Kenzo doesn't continue his research, what then?"
Lion shook his head, "That's impossible."
Yohannes nodded in agreement with Lion's sentence. Andrea hit Angela's head.
"We know how ambitious Kenzo is. Have you forgotten? He will forget everything and be in his own world with just a little support."
