2 Hours Prior

"Oh man that was so good"

Finishing my lunch I balled up the wrapper to my burger and put it on my tray.

"Yea it was great, the food here is always good you know."

The person sitting across from me, "David Lee" had been my best friend for as long as I could Remember. A few years ago during High School he was ruthlessly bullied by a group of girls and they nearly drove him to suicide.

"Hey Marcus I never really thanked you for all the stuff you did back then did I?"

"I thought you did but we both know my memory isn't the greatest haha."

"Yea that's true. However It's thanks to you that I'll be able to get married next year so thank you for everything"

"Woah your getting married!? I didn't even know you had a girlfriend but anyways congratulations dude I'm happy for you."

"Thanks Marc. I was also wanting to ask you to be my best man at my wedding, you up for that?"

"Yea of course man! Why wouldn't I be!?"

"Oh crap. Hey Marc I gotta run we can talk more about it later alright?"

"Alright I see you later take care alright."

"Oh you know I will"

He said smiling and waved goodbye. I had no idea at the time but this would be the last time I would ever see him. It would also be the very last time I talked to anyone from my world.

"I guess I should go to then."

I got up and threw my food away and walked across the street to the public library. It was a pretty large 2 story library, it was located right in the middle of the city I lived in and I would visit it nearly everyday. I walked around the first floor looking for something new to read but everything that seemed interesting down there I had already read before. I walked up the stairs and went to the fantasy section because those types of books were always my favorite. "Hmm this book no maybe this one" I thought to myself moving my hand from one book to another when I looked down and-

"What the hell?"

The floor around me seemed to be swirling around my feet distorting the lights that were scattered on the bottom of the bookcases. It looked like what you see when you look up images of black holes on the internet. Then all of a sudden the ground seemed to rip open and I was swallowed up into the darkness.
