The Heart that shattered

After General Hwa Ryo heard that, he told Xiexie that he needs to kill the King and Queen as soon as possible lest they spill some important information about the Princess's abilities.

The following day, Princess Yǐ sī tiē ran to the courtroom after knowing that Xiexie will kill her Parents.

"Xiexie! Please don't kill my parents! They are my only remaining family! Please!"

Princess Yǐ sī tiē crawls towards Xiexie while crying so hard and begs him to stop the killing of her parents. "Please Xiexie! I will do everything you want but please don't kill my parents! Please Xiexie! This is not who you are! Please!"

The Princess continued crying, Xiexie felt her heartache but, he continued preparing the execution of the current King and Queen.

At the Execution Platform, many people are watching and crying and Xiexie sitting not far from it. The people saw Princess Yǐ sī tiē trying to reach her parents but, the guards were blocking her.

"Stop! Please! Mother! Father! Xiexie please stop this! Don't kill my parents!" as the guards held the Princess tightly, the Queen heard her cries and felt the heartache of the Princess. First, the guards burned the bedridden King.

"No! Father! No! Stop!!"

Next, the guards forced the Queen to kneel as the headsman stood behind her, ready to behead her. The Queen knelt and instead of resisting, he told the Princess that, "My dear beloved daughter. No matter what happens, always remember that we are grateful that you were our daughter. I am blessed to have you. Always find the light in your heart and overcome the darkness within."

The headsman chopped off the head of the Queen and the people cried in fear and sorrow at the sight. The Princess shouted, "No!" and kicked away the guards and killed them, all the while running towards her mother. She howled in pain, holding her mother's dead body.

The sky began pouring with rain, the heaven also wailed for the death of the current King and Queen. Everyone felt the heartache of the Princess.

The Princess stared at Xiexie in rage while still holding the dead body of her mother that still contained her warmth. He deeply looked at Yǐ sī tiē's eyes and stated, "Those eyes..."

At the prison, Lilia visited Prince Taiyang in preparation of the escape. "My Prince…"

"Lady Lilia, everyone is ready."

"We will escape at midnight."

They grabbed Prince Taiyang, quietly escaping from the palace. They managed to reach the Buddhist temple and arrived at where Lillia remembered the entrance to the secret passage was located. As looking around, Lilia tried to recall how she manage to open the passage. She touched the wall searching for the mechanism to unlock the passage. She felt that the pattern on the wall was different from her memories. "No, no, no, no, no…"

"This can't be happening. why is it different?!"

Lilia did not stop searching. She and her subordinates continued searching for the key to open the passage desperately. Until Xiexie's guards arrived.

"Lady Lilia! Xiexie's guards have found us, they are outside the temple!"

"What!? How did they find us!?"

Lilia went outside the temple and saw one of her subordinates standing beside Xiexie. Even a fool could figure out that she was betrayed, "You! Why did you this!?"

"My loyalty will always be to the one who gave us shelter."

"Lilia, after everything we did… You will just betray me?"

"You are not worthy of my loyalty!"

"Let's see how you'll protect him!"

Xiexie ordered the guards to kill all of them and Lilia's group attacked back in retaliation. With extended fighting, Xiexie was observing the fight, waiting for an opening to kill Lilia. As soon as he saw it, He grabbed his sword, jumped at Lilia and pierced her from the back.

"Lady Lilia!" shouted one of her subordinates. They tried to attack Xiexie but, they were all killed. Lilia stood still, looking around devastated. Seeing all of her subordinates lying on the ground with no signs of life in their still open eyes.

"Sigh. Lilia, you protected the wrong Prince. You caused the death of your subordinates. You will carry the guilt along to your grave."

Lilia continued standing, looking at Xiexie with hatred visible in her eyes while reaffirming the grip on her sword. She attacked Xiexie in anger but, she couldn't fight properly due to the injury from the sneak attack.

She looked at Prince Taiyang who stood at the entrance of the temple looking at her, his eyes filled with despair and powerlessness. Prince Taiyang was in despair knowing that, his childhood friend is also about to die in the hands of the person that was responsible for taking away every bit of happiness he should have had in his life. He ran towards Lilia, held her and said, "Lilia, I'm sorry for everything."

"Taiyang, please don't cry."

"Shhh… everything is going to okay Lilia. Alright?"

As Lilia slowly closes her eyes, all the happy memories she shared with Prince Taiyang came to her mind, running around, playing, practicing martial arts, laughing together. They were the memories that she wanted to desperately hold on forever. She made a slight smile and murmured, "I'm a foolish girl who fell in love with a Prince."

Lilia closed her eyes in the warmth of her beloved Prince's arms.

"Lilia? No, no! Please, Lilia, Wake up! Lilia!!"

Xiexie looks at his misery without an ounce of pity for them. He stepped toward Prince Taiyang, hoping to kill him too but, an Immortal Monk in a conical hat arrived and blocked the strike for Prince Taiyang. He grabbed him and escaped into the forest. While flying through the forest, Prince Taiyang resisted, "No. wait! We can't leave Lilia!"

"We don't have much time! We have to leave now!" Then both of them vanished within the tree shade.

"Find them!" Xiexie barked at the guards. However, after combing the surrounding forest, they couldn't find a single trace of them. In anger, Xiexie also killed the traitor that betrayed Lilia. Then, they headed back to the palace. Xiexie ordered a kingdom wide search and declared that Prince Taiyang should be killed at sight.
