The Escape

While back in the forest…

"Wait. Who are you!? And where are we going?" Prince Taiyang questioned the Monk while following him deeper into the forest.

The Monk halted his steps and turned to Prince Taiyang. He took off his hat and told the Prince of his identity, "I am Lü Dongbin. Lady Lilia's master." Prince Taiyang also recalled of Lilia telling him about her Master, an Immortal who lives in Mount Penglai.

"I never thought that I'd get to meet you… But, if you're her Master, then why did you leave her there!?"

"You don't have to worry about her your Highness. That child, I know more than anyone what she's capable of. We will only get caught if we went back now to retrieve her. There are many guards around and there's nothing we can do about it. I can't risk your life for her. Also, your Yang energy is almost depleted. You need immediate rest, before it's too late."

Lü Dongbin continued walking and led Prince Taiyang even deeper into the forest. "What exactly are we doing here?"

"There's a safehouse up ahead. We will return to the temple once guards clear up."

"Why are we going back to the temple? Even Lilia couldn't recognize the patterns on the wall."

"Every time someone opens the passage door, the pattern changes."

"You mean… The pattern changed after we opened the passage back then?"

"Yes. Reason why Lilia couldn't recognize the pattern was because it was different from the one she saw last time."

"How did you know Lilia would be there?"

"She sent me her falcon along with a letter. I gave her that falcon when she left Mount Penglai. That falcon was the only thing that connected me with her."

Lü continued to walk straight and soon reached the place they were going to stay at.

"Ah, we're here."

"Wait. We're going to stay …here? If this is your safehouse, it's just going to be only a matter of time until the guards find us."

"Don't worry. I always live here whenever I visit the kingdom. I cast a spell on this house so that no one can find it."

"So, you mean to, the guards won't be able to find us?"

"Yes, your highness."

Prince Taiyang laid down to rest and after making sure that he's resting, Lü went to the courtyard at the back of the house and sat down to cultivate. While the Prince resting, he dreamt of Princess Yǐ sī tiē. At first it was a pleasant dream where she was smiling happily filled with grace. but it quickly turned into a nightmare where the Princess was covered in black. And she was pleading him, "Master! Save me! Please don't leave me!"

Taiyang suddenly woke up calling her name out loud and he was drenched in sweat. Lü heard Taiyang's scream and he quickly handed him a tea to calm his mind.

"So, you already crossed path with the Princess?"

"Yes. She is my student."

"Hmm, fate really turned against you."

"What do you mean?"

"After we reach Mount Penglai, I'll explain all of it to you. But You take a rest first. I will go outside to check if the guards already left the Temple. Do not exit the house or the spell won't be able to hide you."

"Thank you, Master Lü."

Master Lü returned to the temple to investigate. He saw Xiexie was talking with his guards. Then they entered the temple to figure out why would Lilia bring Prince Taiyang inside the temple.

"Hmm, why did she bring Prince Taiyang here."

Xiexie looked around and noticed the patterns on the wall. He examined it carefully and noticed that the Yin Yang symbol is inverted. Then, he looked at the wall opposite of it and saw a Dragon and a Tiger facing the center of the Yin Yang. General Hwa Ryo arrived Just as Xiexie is about to touch the center of the pattern and told him to return to the palace immediately.

"Your highness! Something happened to the Princess!"

Xiexie immediately returned to the palace with his men and Master Lü went back to the house to fetch Prince Taiyang. After Prince Taiyang and Master Lü returned to the temple, Master Lü touched the center of the pattern. The Yin Yang turned and the passage to the tunnel opened.

They both entered the tunnel and the door to the passage closed and the pattern changed again.

At the palace, Xiexie noticed Fu walking away, behaving in a weird and suspicious manner. Before he could look into it, a servant ran up to him and said in a hurry, "Your highness, please check the Princess. Something's wrong with her! She won't open the door."

Xiexie hurried to Princess's bedchamber and kicked the door open. As soon as he entered, He noticed that the Princess's bed was covered in blood. He immediately removed the quilt and found out that it was one of his servants lying on it, covered in blood with no signs of life. He couldn't find even a shadow of the Princess.

"Where is she?! Search everywhere!"

He remembered how Fu who is Princess's closest servant, was acting strange. "Where is the Princess's servant? Find her and bring her to me at once!"

"Yes, your highness!"

Fu and the Princess ran to the woods and escaped from the palace. But the Guards were hot on their tail. Fu made a daring suggestion, "Princess, please switch your clothes with me, I'll draw them away. You must use the opening and escape."

"No Fu! I will not leave you behind! We will escape here together!"

"We can't Princess. You must get away. I've been with you since we were little, and I'm thankful that the heavens brought us together. So please, let me help you escape this time."

The Princess was unwilling but followed Fu's plan in the end. They switched clothes and Fu ran towards the river, drawing the guards' attention towards her. The Princess went in the opposite direction. She went up the mountain and saw Fu getting caught at the bottom of the mountains.

The Princess wanted to help her but since she still couldn't control her dark force well, she was afraid that if she released her dark force, she might kill her instead.

After Fu was caught by the guards, Xiexie interrogated her, "Where's the Princess?"

"She will never be yours! Stay away from her you demon!"

Xiexie got mad after hearing those and immediately killed her. The Princess was devastated after she saw Fu getting killed. She cried in pain knowing that she couldn't do anything except for hiding in the mountains.
