"no way, if you want a boyfriend then get one yourself"

"but all those I got for myself are a bunch of losers, so please get one for me"

"what makes you think the one I will get for you won't be a loser"

"thank you but I don't trust myself, so no I won't help you with this"

" please!!!! you have always being there for me helping when I don't even need it"

"yes! helping you when you don't need it, that's my specialty, I will help you when you don't need it so no I won't help you with this and that's because you need my help"

"you're right I'm not a good friend but an awesome best friend"

Joan and Nick has been best friends from their childhood, both their parents are close friends, Joan's mom and Nick's mom have been friends since their high school time, their friendship was more than that of sisters since they were both the only child of their parents.

Joan's mom and Nick's mom ever since they met literally did everything together, call it strange but they got married on the same day but unfortunately they didn't give birth on the same day, Nick's parents gave birth first and one year apart Joan's mom gave birth to Joan.

Ever since they were kids, Nick has always been tasked with the duty of looking out for Joan as his little sister, he was to give Joan everything she wanted or else he would get a long lectures from his parents.

Joan always stick with Nick just like her mom always says she should, all her life she has always followed Nick, from going to the same school to joining the same clubs to literally everything.

during their high school days people always thought that Joan was Nick's younger sister, all the guys who showed interest in Joan always seek his permission before pursing Joan, if it was for Nick alone he wouldn't care about Joan's relationship status but unfortunately his parents cared

"mom Joan seems to get a lot of suitors in our school, I won't be surprise if Joan starts dating" Nick said during dinner

"what? Joan can't date she's very young and you why are you talking like you don't care. you're Joan's older brother you should protect her from these boys. I raised you better than that" Nick's mom said

"but Mom I'm just one year older than Joan and besides she can make her own decisions" Nick said

" no no no! Joan is a girl and can be easily manipulated you know how girls are when they fall in love" Nick's mom said

"Mom, you are undermining Joan here" Nick said

"no I'm just scared for her" Nick's mom said

"you know what let's go to her house now and inform her parents"

did I tell you they live blocks away from each other. yes they live in the same neighborhood
