chapter forty four

after that Joan came back to her senses, he was down with a fever and she slowly removed her hand and allowed Leticia to take care of him as she watched on.

after a while,

Joan was walking around but kept her eyes on Nick as Leticia took care of him

"can you stop moving around" Leticia said and Joan stopped

"sorry" Joan apologised

"what are you still doing here, I am here to take care of him so you can leave" Leticia said again

before Joan could react,

"no.....no...sobs...no" Nick screamed as he kept on shaking his head

"he is having a nightmare" Leticia said as she saw tears from his eyes

"and his fever is getting high, get me new water and look into my bag I bought him some medicine, I will wake him up, he has to take it"

as Joan went for the water, she kept on thinking, she bought him medicine, did Nick call her. she kept on thinking but she rushed to do what she said

"Nick wake up, wake up" Leticia said

Joan looked at how she took care of Nick and maybe Leticia was indeed an ideal girlfriend.

Nick woke up but his eyes kept on searching.

"where's Joan, where's she" Nick asked

"calm down Nick and take your medicine" Leticia tried to calm him down

"no..... where's she" he asked again

just then Joan came around, she went to the kitchen to get herself some water.

As soon as she got back Nick signaled her to come over and when she did Leticia had to get up for her to sit, she did and Nick hugged her

"I thought you left" he said

"why would I, when you're sick" Joan replied and they both smiled as they hugged

"now take your medicine, your temperature is still high" Joan added

Nick nodded and let go of Joan

Joan gave him the medicine and he took it

Leticia was so angry at Joan. this was her opportunity to get closer to Nick and she ruin it for her.

as Leticia was lost in her own thoughts

"Leticia" Nick called her

"yes" Leticia replied with a smile, indeed he did notice her around but what happened next

might have made her more angry and maybe a little annoyed.

"you can go home now, Joan will take care of me" Nick said

"but your temperature is still high and I can be useful" Leticia said.

there was no way of her leaving Joan alone with Nick.... oh no, not with what she has seen.
