chapter eighty

for the past week, things were going on well between them and Joan was genuinely happy but she didn't know what was coming her way.

Alice called Nick to meet her for something related to business, he got there earlier and he saw Callum, he became angry and confronted him

"you bastard, how could you have left her on the day of your marriage. why did you propose knowing fully well you couldn't do it"

"what are you talking about? and proposal, who did I propose to" Callum said

"don't play dumb, you left Joan on your wedding day, so much for loving her"

"me? if I was given the opportunity to marry her I wouldn't think twice. but she chose you and not me, how I wish she accepted my proposal, and I don't even understand, why she accepted to marry you when you just came about a month ago" Callum said

"what are you talking about? I didn't propose and besides you were to marry her" Nick said

"no!! it was you and her wedding day. are you trying to prove to me you have her and I don't? anyways you're really lucky and I wish you well on your new lives together" Callum said and left leaving Nick confused

"hey there" Alice tapped on his shoulder

"what's wrong " she asked

"Callum said he wasn't going to marry Joan, so who was supposed to marry her"

"you" Alice said leaving him more confused

"me? I never proposed to Joan so what are you talking about"

"the reason I was angry at you that time was because I saw a wedding invitation card with your name and Joan's, and I was angry you didn't tell me about it" she said

"what? do you still have the invitation card"

"yes"

they went to Alice place and he saw the card, it indeed was his name, he went home.confuse

"what's happening?, I never proposed and everything that happened that day was it all an act, and what for. was I set up? no! no!, it can't be something is not right" he shook his head

just then the bell rang,

he opened it and it was the lawyer bringing their signed contract on the day of their wedding, he went through it and it confirmed what he thought, he was trapped in their lies

he was angry and left for the late party his parents and Joan's prepared, inviting Fred and Kimmy

they were all dressed up for the event, Nick however was saddened as he got there,

"welcome, my son" his mom said

he just stared at her as she pulled him to sit, he watched them as they were having fun talking and laughing.

their laughter, their smiling faces became unbearable to watch.

he stood up, breathe in and decided to leave

"where are you going my son" his mom said and he smiled

"my son? my son?" he said with amusement

"what's wrong son?' his mom said again

"enough of this!!!. enough.!!!" he shouted and everyone became shocked and turned their attention to him

"what's wrong with you, don't shout at your mom like that" his dad said

"you know you're right, even I want to know what's wrong with all of you here? what in the heck are you happy about? are you happy because you accomplished your goals? or happy because you ruin my life once again? tell me which one?!!! tell me!!!!!!!!!" he said angrily
