Chapter 87: The Lies

Wei silently helped Lin Feng with the groceries. "What did you guys buy?" Wei asked, picking up the bags. They weren't heavy, but after the meeting Lin Feng and Chan decided to go grocery shopping for tomorrow's occasion. Lin Feng laughed. Wei was happy that Lin Feng's mean demeanor had been broken into. He was still mean, which caused either him or Ying to hit his arm, but he wasn't rude.

"Exactly what we wanted to make. dodol, the noodles, tangyeon, turnip cake, mooncake, jau gok-" Wei looked at Lan Feng as he kept listening different foods. Most of which Wei had not agreed to make. Chan rolled his eyes. "It's okay. I took them from the cart before he could scan it." Chan said with a smile. Lin Feng turned around with wide eyes. "You did what?!" Lin Feng asked angrily.

Ying snorted, already in his pajamas, which were boxers and a robe. "Childish, I say. Childish." Ying snickered. Lin Feng rolled his eyes, looking over at Ying. "Old, I say. Old." He mocked. Ying's eyes turned red for a sharp moment, but Wei patted him on the shoulder, before walking to the kitchen. As Wei had stated previously, Lin Feng was still mean, but he sn't rude.

"You're going to help me cook." Wei said simply, beginning to reorganize the cabinets for the new food. Lin Feng rolls his eyes, sighing as he sat on the counter. "Why do I need to help you. I'm terrible at baking." It was incredible how different texting Lin Feng is from real life Lin Feng. He's much cuter on the phone. "You work at a cafe, Lin Feng. Baking must not be that hard for you." Wei points out.

Lin Feng rolls his eyes, crossing his arms. He kicks out into the air. "Can we start tomorrow? I'm, tired." Lin Feng sighs. Wei glances over at him, before putting away the last of the groceries. "Yes. Go sleep in Yang or Jingfei's room." Wei instructs. Lin Feng nodded, smiling as he hops off the counter and runs towards the stairs. Wei wanted to got o sleep himself, b ut he had to talk to someone first.

"Chan." Wei called from the kitchen. He turned around, waiting for his old friend to appear. And that he did, walking into the kitchen. "Yeah?" Chan asks, sighing as he walks over to Wei. "What happened between you and Yang? You two got in an argument or something?" Wei asked with a frown. Chan smiles sadly, shaking his head. "No, no. It's fine. We have just been talking." Chan states.

Wei knew he didn't want to talk about it with Wei. Though that hurt him slightly, he nodded. He shut off the lights to the kitchen, pushing Chan out of the kitchen, before walking out himself. "Alright, let's wake up early, okay? I take birthdays very seriously, so we all need to be up by ten. Someone text Bambang that he has to be here by eleven. Good?" Wei asked. Ying and Lin Feng sharply nodded. Wei sighed, walking up stairs. He was a little happy that they could finally do something good tomorrow.

After everything that had been happening recently, the fact that they could finally celebrate something good made Wei smile just a little bit as he drifted off to sleep that night.

The pitter patter of feet is what woke up Wei. He didn't instantly sit up, nor did he move the slightest bit. Instead his eyes opened softly, to reveal his room, darkened by the night sky. Books stacked on his nightstand, most already been read. I Capture The Castle having just been added to that list. He slowly breathed in the air around him.

Aged pages of books settled, as well as the smell of his detergent and wooly blankets he always slept with. The smell of Ying's previous valentine's day gift from this year sat atop his wardrobe, it's colorful fur a breeding ground for dust. Yet, he couldn't smell food. Nothing sweet or savory. Nothing grassy and irony. There wasn't a human in his room.

Finally Wei began to sit up. However as he did so he watched as a glistening silver knife went to his neck and pressed firmly on his pale skin. "I'm sorry.." The voice whispered. Wei knew that voice so well. 'Yang?" Wei whispered. He couldn't see his face, but Wei was suddenly concerned. Concerned as to why Yang didn't have a scent anymore.

With a swift movement Yang raised his hand, the silver blade cutting across his neck. Wei gasped as Yang moved away from him, Wei clutching his neck as blood drizzled down. An icy sensation floated around his neck as the vampire tried to stop the bleeding. He could tell Yang was watching him. Wei didn't feel like he was betrayed. He didn't care if he died. His life was fulfilled a long time ago. But as long as he could help others, he would stay alive.

The flame on his neck slowly began to subside as cool water took over. He slowly lowered his hands to reveal blood, crimson and wet. Wei coughed up blood onto his blanket, the wound healing. Regeneration. Why was he not dying? Silver kills the cells in a vampire's body to the point of no regeneration. So why is Wei not dead on the mattress. He watched as Yang slowly backed away from him, and as Wei looked up, he could see the fear in the vampling's eyes. Yang was a vampire now. But he was going to kill someone else. Wei couldn't let that happen.

Wei yelled as loud as he could. Not that Yang was here, no. But instead something that would cause everyone one to wake up. "EVERYONE UP! Yuao's vampires are here!" Wei yelled as loud as possible. Yang's eyes widened. His glowing eyes widened with fear. They weren't going to hurt him. Wei didn't want Yang to think they were.

Yang ran out of the room, and Wei followed. But Yang was much faster than him. He must truely be one of Yuao's vampires. Coup De Sang and all. He ran into Chan's room, where Chan was hiding by the door, out of sight of the vampling. As Yang ran in, Chan tackled him to the ground in a chokehold. He quickly yanked off Yang's necklace. Lin Feng walked out, Ying quickly after him.

Chan tossed the jewel to Wei, who caught it with ease. Chan held Yang down, looking dead into the boy's face. Chan froze as he stared at the horrified Yang. "Yang?" Chan whispered softly, in shock. Yang stared up at him with just as much shock. He softly nodded. Wei sighed, lowering his head. Lin Feng gasped, looking over at Wei. "Your neck!" Lin Feng yelled. Chan turned around, quickly walking over to Wei. Chan tried to look at the slit, but Chan only pushed him away. "It'll heal soon. That silver knife didn't work on me for some reason." Wei sighed.

Yang slowly stood. No one feared the vampling. Not anymore. Yang walked over to Wei, bowing down fully on the ground. "I'm sorry for hurting you. He told me to." Yang apologized. Wei crouched down, lifting Yang up. "No need to apologize." Wei stated simply. Yang still looked ashamed of himself. Lin Feng looked at the knife. "It's one of Bambang's fake silver weapons. Just like the gun." Lin Feng sighed.

Chan was silent, looking down at the ground. However he asked a question that made Yang tense his muscles. Wei could see it. "What happened earlier, did that have something to do with you being turned into a vampire?" However, even with Chan's sad question, Yang turned around to look at Chan with only seriousness. His words had venom in his voice.

"I was ready for vampires to kill me. But now I am forced to live forever."
