Unwinged Angel

This time, Alexander didn't immediately choose an option, but instead started analyzing the information contained in the simulation results.

"First of all, the assassination of the Seer should be considered safe, while the assassination of the Hunter is obviously a trap."

"He is either part of an organization or has many Beyonder allies."

"Secondly, it is possible to gain the Briber formula by putting up a request in Nemesis Order."

"Finally, going to Tingen with my current strength is just looking for ways to die."

"Let's not even mention involving myself with the plot, simply arriving in Tingen causes Adam to notice me."

Finished analyzing the results of the simulation, Alexander focused his sight on the options.

Knowing that he already had a safe way to get the potion formula for Briber, he immediately crossed this option out.

The digestion progress was an option that was given most of the time, so he put it aside and focused at the Quill of Alzuhod option.

While the Quill of Alzuhod was said to be a powered down version, Alexander, who had read the original book, obviously knew how strong such an item was.

However, didn't have enough FP.

His current remaining FP was 65, meaning that he would have to get characteristics worth at least 135 FP to be able to trade for it.

There were currently two ways he could get so much FP.

He could either accept the Seer and Hunter assassination commissions and hope to become stronger before someone came for revenge, or straight up attempt to assassinate a Sequence 8 Beyonder.

"The first way sounds like something a cultivation protagonist would choose."

"That means that my only actual way to get FP is to assassinate a Sequence 8 Beyonder."

It wasn't that Alexander didn't believe that he could become stronger, it's just that no matter how he thought about it, it sounded like an infinite villain loop situation.

He would kill a Sequence 9 Hunter and a Provocator would come looking for revenge.

He would kill the Sequence 8 Provocator and a Pyromaniac would come looking for revenge.

He would kill the Sequence 7 Pyromaniac and a Conspirer would come looking for revenge, ad infinitum.

It just sounded like a way for the author to spawn enemies for the MC without actually putting any effort.

The next morning, Alexander found himself in the St. George Borough.

This borough was in the southeast of Backlund, where many huge factories and the headquarters of the Church of the God of Steam and Machinery were stationed.

In front of him, a tall brunette lady, dressed in a red dress, was seemingly leading the way.

Yesterday, after Alexander decided to accept a Sequence 8 assassination commission, he didn't hesitate but went straight to Nemesis Order and picked one up.

While looking at the lady, Alexander started to think about her information.

[Commission #74

Name: Sophie Armster

Sequence: Sequence 8 Unwinged Angel

Reward: All the spoils + 700 pounds]

The reason he took this commission was simple: all Beyonders of the Abyss pathways were lunatics and no demon cared for other demons, meaning that nobody would seek him out for revenge.

He had already collected some information about her yesterday and although he coudn't confirm how she became a Beyonder, Alexander learnt that she is a famous sex worker in these parts of Backlund.

Alexander wasn't shocked by this information, as sex work would not only allow her to get enough money to live, but it would also be an easy way for her to target her victims.

Unknowingly, Alexander and the woman had already reached an abandoned factory.

"I can already see it, you are the same as me.", the woman turned to Alexander, laughed and said.

Before he could respond, a dagger had appeared in the woman's hand and she dashed towards Alexander.

Alexander had already expected her attack and promptly used the Red Tyrant's Shadow movement, turning into a shadow just before the dagger could reach him.

Knowledge was imprinted on his mind, but Alexander ignored it, also took a dagger out and tried to catch the woman by surprise.

They didn't use guns since it seemed like they the woman didn't have one on her and Alexander was not willing to use one unless necessary, as to not alert the official Beyonders of the church of the God of Steam and Machinery.

The woman didn't seem to mind, as she dodged slightly towards the right, making the dagger miss her vitals.

A deep cut appeared on her left shoulder but the woman didn't seem to care as she continued to brandish the dagger with a maniacal smile on her face.

For the next seconds, they traded multiple blows and traded injury for injury.

Although Alexander seemed to have an advantage in physical strength, the woman was not only more proficient in using the dagger, but it seemed like the dagger was an extraordinary item itself.

Realizing that he was at a disadvantage, Alexander didn't continue to fight in close quarters but quickly opened some distance between them and used Red Tyrant to heal himself.

He ignored another piece of knowledge that was imprinted on his mind, before feeling that his body had become more sluggish.

Instantly, he remembered that the Unwinged Angels obtained a magical power that varies from person to person and guessed that he must have been poisoned.

Knowing that he should finish the fight fast or he would be in danger, Alexander no longer hesitated and switched the dagger to his left hand.

Meanwhile, the woman continued to attack him.

This time, it was Alexander that didn't care about getting injured and as the dagger slashed his chest, he punched the woman on her abdomen.

The woman hadn't expected such a situation and took some steps back, before proceeding to cough up blood.

Alexander didn't give her any time though and continued to punch her with his right hand, while his left hand awkwardly slashed towards her.

Multiple injuries appeared on the woman but she wasn't lucky enough to have a healing item like Alexander.

Alexander didn't stop, but instead intensified his actions, as he felt that his body becoming more and more sluggish.

The woman couldn't find a way to defend against his relentless attacks, but instead took steps behind while trying to protect her vitals.

This continued for some seconds, before she found that she could no longer step back as she was against the abandoned factory's wall.

Alexander saw the opportunity and switched the dagger to his right hand, before plunging it towards the left side of her chest, dealing the final blow.
