Chapter 11: Three Versus Two

“Mack, what’s up?!” Hannah stands from the back of the restaurant, taking her headphones out.

“I got to go, there’s been an emergency with Ramon,” I tell her, and Hannah immediately closes her laptop and yanks out the power cord.

“I’m coming with. Tell me the details on the way,” Hannah says, packing up her things and rushing up to the front of the store.

“Ramon got attacked at Lycantina, and he shifted. He’s running scared and I’m probably the only one who can help.” My heart beats in my chest like a bass out of a speaker at a concert as I rush to my car.

Trembling with adrenaline, I unlock my car and sit down behind the wheel, cranking the ignition.

“Oh, God! I just saw the Lycan Alert. That’s him?! It makes it look like he transformed and attacked some Wolf Shifters,” Hannah exclaims as she gets in the passenger seat and straps on the seat belt.

“He didn’t,” I respond and my tires chirp on the asphalt as my little Nissan roars onto the road.
