Chapter 12: Free For All

Roxy steps out of the underbrush, her dark eyes burning as if she was the real supernatural creature here. Like a dark siren, she swoops in from the forest, her black wavy hair is flinging out around her, windswept.

Her black lace-up leather boots stomp into the clearing with authority. She scans all five of us, her lips downturned into a serious, grim frown. I’m taken aback at how confident Roxy interrupts a feud between Shifters and Lycans.

But then my human logic comes to the forefront of my mind: she’s confident because she’s a Lycan Hunter.

Why else would she be out here in Arbor Woods?

She must be on the Wolf Shifter’s side. Maybe they called her or planned this so that they could herd Ramon here.

I take a step forward and put my long, taloned hand out to protect my hunted friend. A four-on-two is not good odds, especially since Ramon is already wounded.
