Chapter 48: A New Normal

‘Bloo bloo boo'. 'Bloo bloo boo'. 'Bloo bloo boo’.

The warm, smooth body spooning me from behind twists to turn off her alarm, the rhythmic noise echoing throughout the room. I miss the warmth for only a moment before it returns and I’m embraced tightly from behind. I moan, a smile spreading across my lips, and lean into the warmth.

It’s hard to believe that just a week ago, I had ‘Lycaned out’ in a Phoebe pack hideout to rescue Roxy and Donovan.

“Babe…” Roxy kisses the back of my neck. “Guess what I want for breakfast…” the gorgeous bodyguard murmurs into the crook of my neck, and I wiggle because it tickles.

And she knows it tickles!

“Hm, pancakes?” I ask, shifting a bit, my body still sore from the other day.

The past week, Roxy and I took turns resting, working with Cameron to try to find his father, who still hasn’t turned up, and fussing over Donovan at the hospital. Hannah’s mother made sure he stayed at the hospital for observation even though he swore he felt fine.
