It was you?

" Why are laughing?" Iris barked in anger at his reaction pulling away from him and started walking.

" I'm laughing because you haven't realised yet that your first failure was because your own people betrayed you and no I won't tell you what I'm planing not until the time comes." he explained himself while walking behind Iris.

" Does Ian know the plan?" she asked while she kept walking ahead of him, she really didn't feel like looking at him in that moment, if Ian knew she could always ask him

" No, no one else knows but me." he explained further while finally catching up to her.

" Right, of course! Makes perfect sense to follow a plan that you only know!" she huffed in annoyance while glaring at him.

" I will tell you when you need to make a move, make sure that you won't explain yourself too much as I still don't know who betrayed you in the first place. I have no intention of hurting you Iris, I was the one that released you from the clutches of the guardian of the Hollow, 27 years ago. I'm not the one you should fear." he explained while looking ahead, making Iris halt her steps.

" It was you?" she echoed in surprise not quite believing what she was hearing.

" Mhm." he nodded while giving her a stiff smile that made Iris narrow her eyes at him.

" I'm sorry, I have been asleep for a very long time. I'm still trying to understand how this works properly. It turns out it's not that easy!" he explained while still trying to smile properly but it came out as stiff as a piece of wood making Iris giggle.

" The other day you spoke in ancient language and now you can speak like the rest of us! What changed?" she curiously asked in a suspicious tone of voice while raising an eyebrow at him.

" That was the first time I was fully awake, it takes time to adjust and Ian was fighting me for control but now he seems more compliant and am able to use his knowledge." he explained shrugging with the same stiff smile.

" I didn't know that kethars can do that!" she stated while looking at him frowning.

" They can't but you and I are somewhat different I'm the first of my kind and you are the first one of your kind." he vaguely replied avoiding to give anymore details making Iris's frown deepen.

" What do you mean the first my kind?" she asked again confused, not understanding what he meant she thought that her parents were in service of the Queen and before that she thought her parents were humans and now as it turns out neither was true or so he said.

" I'll give you a hint, you have white hair and emerald green eyes. After spending sometime with my kind what have you noticed? he challenged her to think about her origins.

Iris frowned falling silent at his question, thinking at what he said " Amber eyes, the all have amber eyes" she gave her final answer while looking at him curiously waiting to see if she got it right.

He clicked his toungue " They all share the same eye colour and they are either dark or light haired like your friend Tyla. A bit boring, I know but there's nothing I can do about it." he filled in the gaps understanding that she didn't remember yet the life before.

" We are here!" he let her know while stopping on the river bank looking up at the hut that was on the little hill, just as they left it.

Iris sighed " What should I call you?"

" My name is....a little hard to say in the language that you speak but you can call me Seth" he added while following her line of sight.

" Will you tell me which kind I belong to?" she asked again wanting to know her true origins since so far everything she has been told was untrue.

" With you begins a new generation, a new era of a kind that is more complete and flawless in more ways than one and that makes you the first of your kind. Arkathira is a powerful source where we get our abilities but we are flawed, you are a new beginning Iris, remember that!" he explained slowly closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.

" I still don't understand how am I so powerful and yet I have no abilities unlike the other ones." she complained while looking at him waiting for an answer that didn't come as he kept silent with his eyes closed making Iris to reach and touch his shoulder.

Ian finally opened his eyes that now they were back to normal, looking at Iris frowning, sighing in annoyance.

" What did he want?" Ian huffed a little annoyed at his kethar for butting in right in the middle of a conversation.

Not waiting for her to answer his question, since they have already wasted enough time as it is, he picked her up in his arms to cross the river, Iris opened her mouth to protest but she quickly closed it when she saw the angry look on his face.

" He has a plan but he will let me know only when the time will come since he thinks that the first time someone betrayed me." she shortly explained while Ian frowned stepping on the other side of the river putting Iris down.

" I see!" Ian muttered under his breath with a pensive look on his face, if until now he was lightly suspicious of everyone that came into contact with Iris, now he won't let anyone near her without him being around.

Making their up the hill, stopping in front the hut they both looked at it as it was the grandest place they have ever layed eyes on. Both of them sighed heavily when they realised that they can't stay, like they would have wanted to.

Ian opened the door, entering the hut looking around the small place, he puffed his cheeks in frustration, while Iris's gaze settled on the places that they have spent time together.

Take a sharp breath to gather their courage they finally decided to get what they came for and to go back to Tyla and the other three people.
