Did My Phone Freeze?

Benedito Goncalo Cruz Pereira

I constantly looked at the clock as I worked in my office in Houston. I had not had much communication with Bobby throughout the day which was perfectly fine.

Even I could hear the lie in my tone. I knew he was at home and knowing Bobby, he probably forgot his phone on top of Lettie's head or even left it in a barrel of hay.

If it was not for the tens and tens of guards planted around the ranch that constantly sent me a report of all of Bobby's movements, I would have called him just to make sure he was alright.

Yet the last thing I wanted to be, was a bore. He was spending time with family which I knew he had been missing ever since he had come out of the hospital. Of course they visited but I knew to Bobby there was nothing like being at home.

So all I could do instead of focusing on work was look at the thousands and thousands of pictures of Bobby on my phone.

"Why aren't you working?"
