“What has happened to you? You are always so distant these days. Didn’t we talk about at least having each other? Just tell me what is going on with your grandfather and maybe I can help you.” RuIng’s shook with every word. The smooth skin between his brows tried to pull together in a frown but it formed no lines. Sevir gave a casual look before he turned his eyes up to the vacant white overhead, the ceiling of his so-called new home, the house of his grandfather, he didn’t know existed.
“You can’t.”
“Sevir….” RuIng’s look sharpened, glaring, but there was a helplessness in the stoop of his shoulders. RuIng’s frustration was almost leaking through the crystal. Sevir’s lips curled slightly, trying to smile, but the action felt awkward on himself. He rubbed his face and looked away.
“I am going to find out if grandfather is involved in the whole thing. I am going to make the people who killed my father pay.”
“What… what about… your mother?”
