Stealing

“It might be a trap.”

“For Bailong? Through me? Isn’t that too far-fetched?”

RuIng’s eyes were still far away, “something about the situation is off. Both times you overheard information on Bailong. One time you even went to help him. You shouldn’t have done that. It is not impossible for others to think they can lure him in through you or the other way around. On the inside, it might be a joint interest, but on the outside, it is two peas in a pod.”

The way RuIng explained it sounded plausible. He concluded. “Even if it was not a trap for me, it would attract Kamiko and Kamiko will attract Bailong.”

RuIng nodded. A short pause later, he asked, “have you prepared for everything I told you to do?”

“Everything except those books and papers. I will do today. You take the day off and wait for me to get in touch.”
