“What happened? How… How did you do that?”
RuIng shook his head, both his eyes wide. “I thought my fire would not be enough, so I ran an initial try on the summer solstice. I didn’t think this…”
Sevir shook his head, “I can’t make head or tail of what you are saying.”
“This orb, this crystal, is a medium. It is a place.”
Sevir shifted his focus on the shiny, smooth surface of the crystal.
“How did you find out?”
“There is a small book. On crystal of Voids. I nicked it from somewhere.”
Sevir raised a brow. RuIng pulled the crystal away from his face and put it down. He opened a thin book. The top read, “Crystal of Void.”
“I have to put it back before it is discovered missing.”
Sevir raised a brow. “Who else knows about this book? Knows about the crystal?”
RuIng opened his mouth and closed it. “Not important.”
