Bailong rushed towards the camp at Hiwaga’s heel. Leading the charge were two apprentices, each with a metal ability. One detected, pointed, the other moved the earth, messing with Iluther’s camp ahead.
Suddenly, the blurry images of chaos in Bailong’s eyes cleared up. He refrained from calling out that they had entered the masking bubble of Iluther. He followed Sevir’s future, heading straight for them. Earth moved in an unexpected direction. The future shifted and Sevir ran sideways. The griffin intercepted him, no- the griffin fell in his way, flailed around with fire on his hands, dramatically. It was a poor performance.
Bailong knew he could not just follow Sevir. He would have to pretend to follow the scent. The griffin would ensure that Sevir got out safely. For the time being, he turned to his own future.
