“Shift.” the beast screeched. Sevir woke up to pain and darkness. The prickles of healing were lost in the snapping of tendons behind his eyes.
As quickly as it came, it was gone. Sevir opened his eyes, rasping, hands flying to his face. Shock and desperation rang through his soul. His fingers traced the lines of his own eyes. Nothing. For a moment, his mind couldn’t comprehend how he was seeing red all around him without eyes.
Then a faint figure in blue flickered in front of him. Sevir realised where he was. This was RuIng’s plan all along. Just like the first time they had come into each other’s body, RuIng trying to do it again.
“How?” he asked, looked down on himself. He was red with tendrils of blue running all around him, being pulled from the blue in front of him.
Anger replaced shock and a clawing need for revenge overtook him. He looked at the solidifying image in front of him and tried to stay calm for RuIng.
