Aliferous Masters

RuIng was sitting beside him, hands on fire, hovering around a cracked stone. After the initial surprise about his own control wore off, their father instructed. “Try to turn fire into something else. RuIng’s fire should heal, Sevir’s should destroy. Try to achieve that on this.”

Sevir was long done with his task, having turned his given stone to ash and dust. RuIng’s fire was still wrapped around the cracked stone. The crack was barely healed. Sevir couldn’t help, so he simply looked about the room.

Sideways, a pair of fathers, eyes closed, one healing, the other being healed, was as still as a statue, covered under the dome of light. Initially, a mentor came and went, taking Bailong with them, after reassuring that he will be fine on his own. Still, he sent RuIng along. Then Bailong came back once, sat quietly beside them, breathing heavily and then left again, alone this time. None of them saw their father under the dome as he did.
