Sevir's heart hurt, but he understood. Which was far worse than being ignorant. He understood that Bailong still liked Kamiko. Perhaps those feelings were intensified by his brother’s presence. Even if there was an inkling of concern in Bailong for him, it would get nowhere. He understood helplessly.

RuIng gave him a concerned look and retreated to the situation at hand.

“We are roughly in the middle of the tunnel. I can break the rubble under us, but only one of us can fly. Even if I fall, I will heal, so his highness, Prince Bailong, can focus on you.”

“Only Bailong would do.” Bailong said absently. The soft voice was soothing to his ears along with the long deep breaths. Sevir glanced sideways. Back in his own body, he couldn’t fit in with Bailong in this space. Bailong, too, had also grown taller. Not to mention the wings.

He adjusted. His hand brushed against an unknown part of Bailong, a comforting and awkward warmth spread in his hand. He dared not move.
