We will be late

**

After about an hour,

Elise's lips curled into a smile as she widened her eyes to see Adela. She was quite enthusiastic as she spoke.

"My lady, you look gorgeous. Nobody will look away from you this evening."

Adela raised her eyes and took a quick peek in the mirror. She wore a strapless dress that went wonderfully with the waterfall braid. Her pendant, which shone like a star on her collar, and her long blonde hair, which touched her waist.

Adela turned to Elise and said sarcastically while tucking her hair behind her ear.

"Really?"

"I hope no one is more fascinated with me than the other princes."

Elise sighed, "I have heard that the first prince has a monstrous appearance and behaves like a beast."

Adela's eyes became smaller when she heard Elise. She wasn't expecting to learn about the first prince. She spoke out, "It's a terrible habit, Elise. After all, he is our prince."

Someone abruptly knocked on the door as they were having a conversation.

Adela responded, "Yes."

Adela turned around and saw her father standing there."Father!" she greeted him while smiling.

As Alfred walked up to his daughter, he exclaimed, "My princess looks so gorgeous!" He reached out to take Adela's hand.

"Thank you for your compliments, Father. But why did you appear? I would have left if you had informed me."

Alfred cracked a smile on his face and said, "My princess, what are you saying? It would honor me to escort such a beautiful princess as you."

Adela smiled at her father and grabbed his arm. She was pleased that her father had escorted her from her room. Her father accompanied her to the carriage. She noticed that her mother was waiting for them already. But, before entering the carriage, Adela peered around for Ian. When she couldn't find him, she asked her father, "Where is Ian, Father?"

"Don't worry, sweetheart. He's already at the feast," Alfred said, and then ordered the coachman to move the carriage. Adela peered outside through the window. She was nervous since she was about to encounter her enemy, whom she had never seen in her previous life.

[The scene changes to the palace of the count]

Camilla discreetly walked up to her father and said, "Father, we have to go right away or we'll be late."

Count David turned to face his daughter, Camilla. He glanced at his daughter for some minutes and then spoke out while thinking something: "Yes, we have to leave."

There was dissatisfaction in David's voice for Camilla, and Camilla could sense it from her father as well. She didn't ask him the reason, because she didn't want to ruin the moment.
