King

David interrupted the emperor when he saw his daughter turn her head to him and remarked, "Your Highness, you are right, she seems to like her mother." David feared that the emperor's lustful gaze would fall upon his daughter. The emperor appeared to be looking at his daughter's body through her gown.

David clenched his teeth and gripped his daughter's hand hard, saying, "Your Highness, please give me the orders to depart."

Draven's eyes narrowed. Firstly, he took his time to respond to David, since he was so captivated by Camilla's beauty.

Camilla's mother was simply gorgeous; in a nutshell, she was the dream girl of every man's dream when she was young. Even Draven was one of them, but Camilla's mother had mysteriously disappeared, and no one knew where she had gone. Some of them said Camilla's mother abandoned David and fled the mansion with a mysterious man, while others claimed she made deals with the monster's king to turn her into a deadly sorceress.

"Yes, I will surely speak with you and your daughter later," Draven responded.

David's eyes widened as he heard the emperor, and he hurried away after not waiting even a second.

He knew it would happen, but he somehow did it, so there was nothing to repent of, but David remained transfixed because of his rage at the emperor.

Her father's rage perplexed Camilla. She reasoned that perhaps the emperor's reluctance to speak was what had enraged her father. She asked her father, "Father, is everything okay?"

Camilla's abrupt tone caused David to lose his train of thought. "Camilla, don't bother me right now," he retorted. "Be at ease with everyone."

Her father spoke and then left her there by herself. Camilla was staring her father's way. She knew that she had enraged her father once more. The emperor didn't appear to be interested in her.

Camilla lowered her eyes, assuming that her father probably disliked her even more. She attempted to wipe away her tears. She believed to herself that she was the worst creature on the planet when she was terrified of letting out a silent cry.

Camilla heard her name called out of the blue.

"Camilla".

Camilla promptly made a U-turn since she recognized the voice and would like to hear it often. Francis was right in front of her, and she smiled as she spotted him. No one could doubt that the girl had tears in her eyes moments before.

"Hello, Camilla."

Francis approached Camilla after he noticed her standing alone at the banquet. "What brings you here alone? Where is your father?"

"Father left to do something."

"I saw him talking to the emperor," Francis remarked.

Camilla hesitated before answering, "Ah, yeah."

Francis smiled as he cast another glance in all directions. Camilla turned around to face Francis. His physical attributes had her spellbound. Camilla could not take her gaze off him. She gradually turned her attention to the crowd. She noticed that many attractive women were eager to talk to Francis. They eagerly expected to dance with this attractive man.

Francis seemed to be incredibly attractive, Camilla thought, as she returned her attention to him. She felt a little pleased that Francis had spotted her in this crowd. Suddenly, Camilla's thought of a train was interrupted by Francis.

He asked, "Camilla, where is Adela?" "Will she not come?"

While looking around, Camilla murmured in a worried tone, "I am not sure. But she assured me she would come. How come she is taking so long?"

Francis said, "I hope her health doesn't deteriorate."

Camilla heard Francis and turned to look at him. She knew Adela so well that Adela wouldn't break her promise.

"Adela is steadfast in her commitment to honor her word," Camilla remarked.

As Camilla was speaking, they heard a guy honk, and they turned to face the entrance gate. They spotted Adela and her entire family entering the hall. Camilla smiled upon seeing them.

Francis called out Adela's name and walked over to them. Camilla strolled alongside Francis.

Francis welcomed Alfred with, "My lord, it's good to meet you" and smiled at Adela. Adela smiled back at Francis and then moved aside with Camilla and started blabbering with her.

"I heard you visited my palace in the morning, so why did you depart, Francis?" Alfred asked.

"I merely went to meet Adela, Duke," Francis said frankly to Alfred. Alfred admired Francis for his forthright response. Whatever was going through Francis' mind, he spoke it clearly in front of everyone.

Francis' remark caught Alfred's attention, and he smiled and stated, "I am delighted you guys are genuinely like the old days." He stroked Francis's shoulder and said, "Okay, let's see the emperor. I'll be joining you shortly."

When Alfred summoned Adela, she excused herself from Camilla and went to see her father. They made their way over to the emperor and bowed. Adela followed suit, although she was staring in another direction. Adela did not find anyone near the Emperor. She reasoned to herself that if they had already left the banquet, she would have missed the opportunity to meet him. But she had to catch a glimpse of him at any cost.
