Instead of saying hello to Adela, Richard said, "I heard you gave my father a present of a phoenix."
Richard's brows furrowed, as though he hadn't truly expected Adela to present the emperor with such a magnificent gift.
"Yes, Your Royal Highness."
While flashing her white teeth at him, Adela said. Adela smiled, but Richard seemed to find it unappealing, so he averted his eyes. Adela furrowed her brows in response to Richard's actions. He was acting so oddly.
Richard asked in a perplexed manner, "Why?" Adela sensed he was giving off a strange sensation. It appeared like a young lad was being cocky about his girlfriend. Richard was interrogating Adela in that way.
Adela gave the impression that she was innocently unsure of what the prince was trying to say.
"Prince, he is our king; thus, I thought Phoenix was the best gift for our emperor," Adela answered with a smile.
