Day Two #1

Many types of creatures came to exist in the world after the dungeons started appearing and they continued to spread until the dungeons had been defeated.

The remaining creatures had to start again without the support of the dungeons and had to adjust to the change of the world.

One of the changes was that many of the resources within the dungeons had begun to show up in all parts of the world.

Whether it was those creatures or the humans, they used some of those resources to grow in power and develop their own way of surviving in a world which had constantly been changing.

There existed all kinds of creatures which ranged from monster, demon or animal types but also humanoid or hybrid types but there were certain rankings for each of them to grade their danger levels no matter the power they possessed.

A regular rank monster could have been any type of monster that was a much lower threat and possessed very few innate abilities, they posed no real danger to humanity unless they were in larger numbers or the environment was unfavourable.

A superior monster was the next rank above and they possessed greater strength, agility, endurance or more dangerous innate abilities which helped them in combat so they required more skilled hunters of the same power to deal with them.

An emissary rank monster was even more dangerous and needed someone with greater skill to take down while a larger and more organised group was recommended.

Zenith rank monsters were the rank above which were used to describe even more dangerous and rare monster types which many groups would have trouble taking down.

Legendary rank monsters were even higher in their threat level and had many kinds of abilities and innate talents, many of the monsters resembled famous monsters from myths and legends so their rarity and power was too much for most groups to handle.

Ancient monsters were even more rare when it came to the amount which existed but if they had escaped the dungeons before they were cleared then their innate talents and survival abilities would allow them to climb up to the very top of power without much difficulty.

The rankings were the same for all types of monsters, demons and beasts so an example would be a dragon which would have been ranked as a legendary beast or monster while a primordial or ancient dragon would be another rank higher.

The Gremlins were always a type of monster that was at the bottom of those rankings and rarely appeared in higher difficulty dungeons.

As a normal or lesser monster, their chances of climbing to the top was very difficult because they would easily be overpowered by many monsters of a higher rank which had a slightly lower or similar power level.

After accepting the skill that had been granted to her, Inis had undergone an overall improvement to her own species to become a lord level or ruler type monster so her danger ranking had risen to the superior ranking.

What came with that was an improvement to her physique and physical capabilities but also a slight improvement to her innate abilities.

While there were a couple of innate abilities that Inis had, the main ones were matter ingestion, mechanical intuition and replication.

The two most important ones that Inis started to test out and work out the limits for were matter ingestion and replication.

She watched the others as they hunched over and seemed to focus their energy towards a point on their back before a ball popped out.

Inis found a space of her own and attempted to mimic them but while doing so, she chose to circulate her energy and directed it towards that point.

A ball popped out of her back but she still had energy to spare so she remained in place as she continued to push out another ball.

She stepped over towards the two tiny balls which started to grow larger a little at a time. "Hurt.. a little."

She was still annoyed that she could not speak properly and form complete sentences but she was still relieved that she could communicate even if it was a little.

Inis could feel that most of her energy had been drained after using her replication ability twice so she went to test out her other ability.

A large pile of different things were laying in front of her ranging from rocks, sticks, raw meat, meat that had gone bad, ordinary herbs and a couple of herbs which she found in the surroundings which were identified by her to be poisonous.

Inis picked up the stick first and took a bite of it with ease then moved onto the rock.

With a crunch, her teeth broke through the rock with little difficulty and it was chewed up before being swallowed. 'It seems that there are no bad effects on my body so far. Time to move onto the others.'

One after another, she started to consume small amounts of each of the things she collected then started to increase the dosage but there were still no side effects and she did not feel disgusted from eating anything strange.

Inis looked below herself and found that there was nothing left to test. 'I need to venture further out but first I need to test my other limitations.'

She called out to the two newborns which had followed her then she started to get them to follow her to carry all types of exercises until they dropped from exhaustion.

One of the perks of being a monster was that the energy within the body strengthened it a little more as their power increases so they usually experienced growth during sleep or rest while humans had to train and push past their limits to strengthen their body, energy and then move onto greater feats of strength.

Her efforts to test her own limits and push her body were not completely useless since most monsters were usually stuck with their current physique and did not know how to train it but she did possess a body with some similarities to humans so her methods from her time as a human were not useless.

While other monsters rested and slept for a long time after gaining more power so their bodies could adapt and be strengthened, Inis took another approach which allowed her body to adapt much quicker to the growth in power.

Slowly the energy within her was washing through every part of her body as the skin, bones, muscles and tendons were put under stress from her harsh training.

She quickly understood that her speed, stamina, strength and endurance were all above what the other Gremlins were capable of and as her body was strengthening under the influence of the extremely pure energy which was made up of the essence of the world, the gap was becoming much larger as Inis was closer to becoming an early stage rank one superior monster.

After resting and eating some more, Inis started sparring with her two followers and started to teach them to use weapons before they headed out to hunt.

She quickly got used to the Gremlin home grounds and their rules or hierarchy which were not difficult to understand or follow.

There were several groups among the Gremlins but there were very few strong individuals among them which were a danger to her but there seemed to be a certain order to things which suggested there were more among the group which had not yet shown themselves.

There were those that sat around the cave or nearby and stayed where it was safe so their tasks were to produce new Gremlins whenever they had energy so that they could get a small portion of the food that had been gathered or hunted.

There were the gatherers or hunters among them which ventured outside and took on the dangers so that they could go out to gather food or find ways to increase their power or chances of survival.

Rank one Gremlins could produce between one or two replications before being completely exhausted while normal ones without any energy could only barely produce one before having to rest and eat.

Inis had been able to produce two but there was still a small trace of energy within her body left over and she felt that with a little rest or energy circulation, she could regain the energy needed to produce more so her ability to control and replenish her energy was greater than the others and her abilities were above them.

She had considered taking the others under her but then decided against it since it was too much to handle so soon and it would only bring her endless troubles and even if she did gain control over them, there may be other individuals or groups from her own species that would return from a long hunt which she may not be a match for.
