Movement was heard nearby as the cocoons were showing signs of life within, each of them seemed to be breathing in and out at a regular and calm pace.
That was until a couple had begin to shake and roll around the ground within the cage suddenly.
The outer slimy layer stretched out until it was ripped apart and a couple of newborns were revealed.
Upon standing onto their feet for the first time, their movements were a little clumsy but they quickly adjusted.
They had begun to tear at the remaining slimy layer on their bodies until it had been removed then they started to eat it.
"Gagaga."
"Jajaja."
"Mamamama."
Each of them had taken a short time to emerge and get adjusted to their surroundings before a hunchbacked Gremlin walked in while pointing to each of them. "Ja-ge, ga-ge, ma-ge…"
He seemed to be giving each of them simple named based on their first noise or words.
His hand pointed towards the two newly emerged Gremlins which had a dark purple skin and light purple eyes. ".."
He found them to be a little different from the others in physique.
One had a slightly more burly build while the other had a a taller and slim build which seemed quicker than the other gremlins.
They were the two Gremlin's born from Inis's body and had inherited a slightly enhanced characteristic.
While Inis had gained a big improvement upon gaining her skill which boosted her physique and innate abilities which caused the improvements to the new borns she created, they only gained an improvement in one area and they were still slightly inferior to herself in that area.
They had evolved to suit that enhancement so their bodies had come out differently from each other.
Their dark purple skin and light purple eyes seemed to match the markings on Inis's body and her eyes which helped others notice that they were slightly different from the others of their race.
The hunchback Gremlin was about to name them but there was a hand which stretched out and pulled back his arm. "No.. mine."
Inis would not allow her kids to be named by someone other than herself. 'Since this old guy wants to play this role and play around as a babysitter then he can continue to do so.. I can always create my own tribe and leave those that keep clashing with me behind.'
Since she had confirmed that her ability had caused a mutation, she know longer saw much benefit in trying to drag all of the Gremlins in her tribe to her side and reforming them.
The hunchbacked Gremlin felt his arm hurt from her grip and showed a little panic. "Oh. Ah.."
He pulled back his arm and when Inis had released it, he ran out of the cave in a hurry.
Nobody noticed once he came out and was seated outside the cave where he usually went but as he sat down, he was shaking a little in fear.
There was pain on his arm which had lingered a little but that would be gone very soon, the main thing which caused him fear was a feeling deep within himself as Inis touched him.
It was like a strong suppression of the bloodline which was overpowering which had never appeared in his tribe during his life.
All Gremlins were born to possess the same physique and abilities so there were never any that were born as special or above the others before.
They could improve themselves through learning, training and gaining experiences but everyone started out the same.
When Inis was born, she had been the same but then she suddenly changed a little and he did not know the reason why.
He did not know that she gained a passive skill which became an innate ability for her which caused her to become a ruler or mutant type of her species so her bloodline was superior to ordinary Gremlins.
The strong hold while being very close to the hunchbacked Gremlin was enough to let that part of herself be sensed for a moment and cause him to be scared of her.
The arm that was held before was shaking uncontrollably while his other hand held onto it and tried to hold it in place to stop the shivering. "Ha.."
Inis did not know of the effects she had on the hunchback Gremlin as she pointed to the taller Gremlin which was a female. "Vio."
She then pointed towards the male which had a more burly build. "Vik."
Naming each one was going to be tiresome so she just went with shorter names with Vi in them which were shortened from violet.
Naming them simplified names from magenta, violet, purple and other shades were easier for her to do since there would be many of them being birthed in the future.
The sounds of heavy breathing and screams followed within the cave after the other Gremlins had left which was the tough training Inis was putting Vio and Vik through.
Inis carefully looked over the bone weapons laying nearby then passed a couple bone daggers over to Vio then a bone axe to Vik. "Come hunt."
The new borns had growling stomaches so she needed to teach them the ways of hunting to allow them to catch their own food.
Her eyes searched around until she finally found Remli and Kreg who were seated by some others as if they had settled in well with the others. 'Hah.. traitors.'
It had only been one night that passed and they had already went off to group up with others.
As Inis took the two newborns with her, Remli and Kreg noticed her leaving then looked towards each other while showing hesitation on their faces.
The sound of laughter came from the crowd around them while they were silently sitting there.
It had been early in the morning and a group had formed to hunt together.
They had been dragged along which earned them praise from the others since they were a little more experienced than the others and had weapons of their own.
The praise and friendliness of the others quickly let them settle in with the group but they had been the ones to split their catch with the others even though they did most of the work.
Upon seeing Inis, they hesitated to follow her and sat silently while looking at each other until they finally stood up and ran from the group.
Inis was the one who allowed them to gain their current skills and weapons while she had been fair with distributing the spoils of war unlike the others.
They had also noticed that after sleeping through the night and then going hunting again, they had become slightly stronger which could have been from the meat which seemed to be very attractive to them and filled them with energy.
When they saw Inis's departing back, they felt like they were being abandoned and left behind while Inis was going to a place they would never be able to see or reach if they continued to hesitate.
They picked up their bone weapons and then ran into the forest chasing in the direction that Inis had just went while leaving behind the other confused Gremlins.
They were a little confused why the two good hunters had left while they were all having a fun time together and enjoying what the two had killed.
Only when they saw the weapons being carried into the forest did they realise that the two of them had went to hunt without them which made them angry.
In their view, they had invited the two to participate in their group hunt so they should be grateful and contribute to the group.
Since they had joined then the two of them could not just go off to hunt without them or without telling them.
However they were quickly distracted by the meat in front of them as they greedily tore apart the flesh and bone of the dead prey.
