Day Thirteen #6

After sneaking around, Inis was able to locate a nearby water source without running into any monsters.

The smell of blood on her would soon become a problem so she walked up to the river in front of her.

The water was not completely clean and was difficult to see deep into it beyond the surface.

It caused her to be a lot more vigilant with each movement as she carefully placed her hands into the river.

After holding enough between her palms, she started to bring it to her face wiping away the blood.

She continued to remove some pieces of blood stained clothes and dipped them into it before removing them again.

The soaked clothes were scrubbed a little before being dipped back in again repeatedly until they were twisted in her hands to drain them of the water they had soaked up.

After checking over her body and clothing, Inis saw that although it was not the best method to remove everything, it was enough to get the job done.

All that was needed as to wait for the clothes to dry off after hanging them on a nearby tree branch.

Inis continued to rest up a little waiting for her clothes to dry by the river until her magenta eyes suddenly sharpened.

She stood up from where she had sat then lowered her body in a cautious manner as she slowly backed away.

Her magenta eyes rested on the top of the water as if waiting for something.

One hand went behind her back holding onto one of the small curved blades that was in its sheath.

The held onto the hilt and started to slowly draw the curved blade from its sheath while making little noise.

The water in front of her started to show some movement as ripples started to appear followed by bubbles.

By the time that the first blade had been pulled out and the second hand was rested on the hilt of her second blade, a big change took place.

The ripples and bubbles spread out wider and a strange figure emerged from within the river.

The two blades carried by Inis were not overly sized for her to be able to carry and use while they were not small enough to be unable to be used in combat.

There was enough length on each blade to be able to reach her opponents and stab deep enough into their flesh, the slightly longer arms despite having a smaller size helped her to reach out and stab further beyond her small body should be capable of.

Her shorted legs were firmly placed on the ground to get the maximum stability in her stance as she prepared for combat.

She was at a safe enough distance to avoid any attacks incoming from the water which allowed her enough time to decide whether to attack or run away.

The water started to splash around as a figure jumped out of it with a sharp landform weapon in its hand that looked like it came from something from under the water.

It had a bulbous body with a large mouth lined with rows of sharp fangs, clawed hands and feet, slime-coated skin and it had gills showing that it could breathe underwater.

Its skin had a dark grey coloration and it was around four feet tall, it had a close resemblance to some kind of fish or frog.

There was a foul smell coming from it which seemed to be someone kind of natural pheromone it released.

Upon seeing its appearance and picking up on the familiar stench, Inis quickly identified the creature before engaging it.

The creature responded and attacked her upon spotting her nearby after failing in its ambush from the river. "Mrr!"

It did not speak a language that could be understood but that did not mean the creature was unintelligent.

It was the type of sea creature that was very dangerous and annoying to deal with for newer dungeon hunters that had entered their first dungeon which had underwater creatures inside too.

It opened its mouth and suddenly spat up a mouth full of water in a powerful shot right towards Inis who was getting closer. "Gua!"

Inis timed it perfectly to lower her body before rolling to the side allowing the water to miss her.

Her movements did not pause for a single moment as she picked herself up from her position then leapt forward.

There was a smaller opening which she took in the instant the sea creature was finishing up its attack.

The curved blade in her hand was aimed up towards the throat of the sea creature causing its blood to spill out in that moment. "Gua.."

It dropped the weapon it held and clutched towards its throat before falling back while Inis had already backed away.

There was a strange look in her eyes as she looked down at the dead body of the sea creature as if coming up with some sort of plan.
