chapter thirty five

Being able to attend Hillary Kent's party must have been one of my biggest highlights this far into my senior year. To think I did not even need River's help to get in this time.

Eve had texted me to let me know that she was going to be running late so I headed up to the mansion Hillary called home and nervously rang the doorbell.

The door opened by its own after a moment of me waiting nervously to get in.

A bunch of guys stood by the door talking loudly with cups filled with what I could only safely assume was liquor.

At my very not so confident arrival they turned their heads to meet my wandering gaze and gave me the weird nod that was somehow the universal equivalence of amicable acknowledgement.

I slowly walked into a receiving room that was filled with a bunch of people dancing, a whole light show on display as a DJ played songs for the screaming crowd.
