chapter fifty two

It has been a while since I sat down with the king and queen for a meal so when River texted me last night after his business meeting about having breakfast with his family, I readily agreed.

The part that eagerly jumped on the invitation was the one that wanted to stay grounded and get assurance that River still liked me enough to want to hang out with despite my scars.

I don't know why I'm not over the fact that I showed him my scars, almost the same that has him on therapy and we hardly talked about it since he had to leave almost immediately after our hug.

I quickly bow my respects to the two monarchs already sat at the table and patiently wait for the help to push my chair out for me.

I take the chair to the left of the king, leaving one right where River is supposed to sit directly across his mother and smile at the woman once I'm settled.
