"Manoah! Manoah!"
After the encounter with the Angel, Lily ran home in a panic.
She had just received good news that she will bare child but also news that the child would be an extraordinary Awakener who would one day lead Israel to its freedom.
"Lily, slow down. What's the matter?" A middle aged man asked with a calm voice.
The man's brows furrowed as he looked as his exasperated wife.
His olive skin grew a shade paler as he watched her struggle for breath.
"What's the matter!" He repeated.
" I don't even know where to begin…"
Lily managed to, somewhat coherently, explain the series of events that unfolded while she was at the orchard.
"So your saying that a random man with a white robe appeared before you and told you he was sent from the lord and that you would bare a child that would lead Israel to freedom?" Manoah asked with a questioning gaze.
He had no reason to doubt his wife but what he had just heard was honestly quite hard to believe.
"Yes! I swear it!" Lily replied
She could understand his questioning gaze; even she felt as if she had gone crazy.
If these events didn't happen to her should wouldn't beleive them either.
"Relax, I believe you. You've never lied to me before.
What I don't understand is how our child will be an awakener when neither of us awakened."
He couldn't help but stroke his beard as he fell into deep thought.
'I'm sure the Lord has his plans and his ways to make our child an awakener.
It's best if we don't doubt the lord, though it would be nice if we could speak with this man once more.'
"Let us ask the lord to send this man once more to instruct us on how to raise him." Manoah suggested.
"Yes, I think that's the best course of ac-"
*KNOCK KNOCK*
"!?"
"Who's that? We aren't expecting anyone are we?" Lily asked.
She was honestly still freaked out about this strange day.
"No. No we aren't."
Manoah, and his wife in tow, walked toward the door and cracked it open.
There, stood a man with the same white robe that Lily had described that covered just his eyes. He had a small smile on his face.
"It seems the Lord wanted me to come back." The man spoke out gently.
'Heavens! I had my doubts but now it undeniable.' Manoah thought.
"I take it your the man that appeared before my wife. Please come in."
The man simply smiled and stepped past the pair. He took a seat at the dining table and waited for Manoah and Lily to sit with him.
After they all sat, an awaked silence once again ensued.
"So, the intructions on how to raise the child remain the same.
You might see them as strict, but they are equally important, no… imperative as they are strict, to uphold.
Do not eat any unclean foods, do not drink any wine and you MUST not cut his hair."
Manoah had a weird expression on his face.
"Im sorry, his? The child will be a boy?" He asked incredulously.
"Sorry about that spoiler." Tha man scratched the back of his head with an awkward smile.
"The boys name will be Samson of Zorah."
"You dare spoil his name also!" Manoah nearly lost his temper.
Lily also wore a weird smile on her face but she wasn't too bothered. She was just happy to have a child of her own.
Once things calmed down, Manoah asked a question that had been on his mind.
"So…the child will be an awakener?"
"Not just any awakener, he will be the most outstanding awakener to grace the land of Israel. So raise him properly." The man replied.
Hearing the mans response, Manoah sat back in his chair and tried to take in all the information.
No matter how hard he tried, it all seemed ridiculous.
He decided to just trust in the Lord and worry about things later.
After gathering his thoughts, Manoah realised he had been in no way hospitable to the strange man.
"So… would you like any food? We have a few Lamb at the farm that we were to slaughter for dinner."
"No, thank you for the offer. If you'd like to slaughter a lamb, you might as well burn it as an offering to the lord." The Angel said sternly.
"Mhm, I guess your right. Wait here for a moment."
Manoah left to retrieve the lamb. He carefully set it onto a stone and cleanly slit its throat.
He clasped his hands together and closed his eyes and said a short prayer for the lamb.
Lily and and the strange Man watched this silently.
Manoah carried the lambs body to the fire behind their house and set it onto the stake.
*WHOOSH*
The fire suddenly blazed a blinding white and shot a few metres into the air.
"Heavens!" Manoah couldn't help but exclaim.
This reaction from the fire was far from normal, one could even say supernatural…
The man in the white robes behind him suddenly let out a small chuckle.
"The lord is pleased! Manoah and Lily of Zorah rejoice!"
The strange man suddenly burst into a ball of white light and like the smoke from the fire, ascended into the air.
His laughter rang out across the field as he disappeared into the the sky.
This time there were no question or doubts in any of Lily's or Manoah's minds.
They knew this blessing had came from the lord and that the "man" was an Angel.
They both fell to the floor and prostrated themselves.
"We have seen the lord!" They both exclaimed with smiles on their faces.
"…"
