Chapter 5 : Fear
“Ahh, finally I’m freed from this bastard’s body. Now then, who is the guy that free me from this lewd fool’s body?!” For a moment, I’m just silent. My body are shaking and can’t move. The spirit realize it. And then he take my hand and fly super fast into the door of that room. And then, we rest for a while.
How can I ain’t feel scared. His face seems like a komodo with a topknot, his body are fully covered with scales that are white and also look hard like the iron of a sword. His legs are similar like a bird but with four legs. Also, it seems he have a bat wing but with a white colour and looks like its wings are as strong as its scales. And then, the last one is his tail. He has a tail maybe around 6. And it has a sharp thing at the end of the tail
“Zein, are you okay? Your body are so trembling, if you don’t want to do this I will open the gate into your house and yo-.” He said then I shut his mouth and say.
“Shut up! I’m trying to think.” I said seriously with a whispering voice.
“Umm, think about what?”
“I’m thinking how to beat him with only one punch.”
“O-okay... should I do next?”
He said with a confused face. I close my eyes and think seriously. I ignore him for maybe 3 minutes, his face are changing from the confuse face into a very annoyed face.
“HEY, WHAT SHOULD I DO! I DON’T WANNA JUST LAYING DOWN HERE.”
“WHOA, you surprised me I was sleep back then. What did you ask?”
He scream so loud until I open my eyes. With that annoyed face again he punch my stomach quiet hard more harder than before but luckily I can hold it.
“I said what should I do?!!”
He said while holding his voice. Then I’m seriously trying to think without closing my eyes anymore.
“I can use that wind ball again right now. But it seems it’s not his weakness... then what about I create a new water style. Yea maybe it will be effective then I’ll mix it with the gas holder tha- wait since when that gas holder exist or maybe I didn’t saw it back then. Well, its okay it can be useful to make my plan goes smoothly. You can do whatever you want, me. But remember, use a weapon. The sharpest one, okay?”
He looks to me and then... his face are changing form intense mode to happy face. He suddenly stands up and run as fast as possible while picking up a glowing green pipe from the floor. That beast just notice it and then he use its 2 tails to stop the spirit’s movement. Well, I think he will be fine. When I see him again he actually have already hit that creepy thing using that pipe... but, weird suddenly some weird people comes out from that pipe.
At first those people are just a green liquid from that pipe but suddenly they’re turning into a human-like creature. Their eyes are yellowish green, their flesh are little bit destroy until some of their skin peeling off and showing their flesh, their feet have nothing but bones, but well their movements quiet slow. On that time, I also realise that these creatures is an undead, and I remember something. Their eyes are quiet blurry so they can’t really see their target. But, as a replacement. Their hearing ability are quiet sensitive just like the zombies on the movie and game.
“Hah, what is this thing? I’ve never seen it before, from so many war that I joined back then I’ve never seen this creature. Well, whatever. COME AND CACTH ME.”
“Uhh, that dumbass.”
I said on my heart after that spirit shouting but I didn’t do anything apart from sitting back and watching the show. Those undead hear the spirit’s voice and then they’re trying to attack him. The spirit can only slay 2 of them with wind elemental power but suddenly the tail of that beast are hitting him until he hit the wall.
“IT’S A KARMA FOR YOU! EAT THAT YOU OLD DUMB SPIRIT!!”
I said on my heart. My feeling are being much better when I said that on my hearth. But, it only remains for awhile. Suddenly an undead are screaming along with that beast. And then, that beast say.
“You, why.. your smell. Are two?” I’m surprised because of two things in that time. One he noticed me. Two, why suddenly the way he talks turns into a stutter? Or does he just memorize the first sentence?? Or because he might still be surprised by the attack that was given by the spirit? I don’t know why but clearly, he has noticed me.
“Yes, There’s another me in here. Come out Zein!”
He makes me freak. Then, I’m trying to make a good entrance pose while picking a brick that were hit from the monster’s tail.
“UHH YOU DUMBASS OLDIE BASTARD!!! UHH... Fine, yep. You found me.”
I said with my straight voice while my hands are still trembling. I’m walking very slow, super slow. Because I’m afraid of those mobs and that beast. But in my deepest heart says that I must be brave and slay them all, I’m the king on this country and if I’m being a coward, my pride as a king and myself are gonna be broken. That’s what I’m thinking, Then my fear are just gone a bit. And then, I’m trying to use the wind skill again but this time, I’m trying to fuse it with the brick and make the wind ball again to push it slips on my palm.
I charge it until my palm feels pushed by the wind, then I aiming it right into the between the rest of undead and that monster.
And then, I throw that brick and when it reach the middle of them I clenched my hand and that brick spread out into a scrap and kill the rest of the undead. But unfortunately, the monster is okay. He sees the scrap of the brick and then he deflect it with his tail to wall on the right. “Well, I knew it tho.” That’s what I said on my mind. Then, I use the second possibility which is with how to carry the sword used by Vanigrad back and reuse my wind skill again to make the sword faster and sharper.
“Storm... Boost!” I whispered the chant in a slightly suppressed voice. I can feel the wind gently blowing from my head and slowly spreading to my feet as I run.
Then, I’m stomping my feet. I jump and do some acrobatics movement until I touch a pillar and then make a push to help me reach the beast. I point my sword that I was holding using my right hand towards the beast’s belly to lure its tail. And it works! He use 3 of his tail to stop me.
Gotcha! I said it in my heart. Then I’m trying to cut his tail while preparing the wind ball and pointing it into his face. Well I can slice his tail. But, when I’m trying to attack him using the wind ball it doesn’t affect him. Then, with some courage. I’m moving my sword from right hand to the left and try to stab his face.
Crack! Unbelievable! That sword are just broken. The sharpest part of that sword are turned into a scrap of iron and then he use his two other tail and hit me until I’m threw right into the door direction. But, luckily the spirit blocked me so I don’t hit the door.
“Oops, Maybe I will join this battle too... Ice crossbow, liquida arrow.”
Then the vessel rise up and he use his fighting stances with the spirit. The while running towards the beast. Then, suddenly an ice particle with the water are appear from his left hand and the ice are fuses until it shape a crossbow and then the water being an arrow. Then he stop and stomp his feet. Suddenly, the floor are shaking a bit and then one of the tile on the spirit’s feet are cracking and make a little square shape and it come out. Then, piece of that tile are cracking again making a shape of a dagger and it really turning into a dagger.
The spirit grab it and he run to the left of the beast to reach the box near him in order to make it as a repulsion to jump and after he jumped, a wind ball appears on his feet and the toe of his shoe touch the wind ball and the result he jump even higher. Then suddenly, a dark aura envelope him as he descend and trying to stab the beast. The beast realise it and he quickly sprout a strange red liquid but it didn’t hit the spirit because half of his body are just gone by that dark aura.
Before he stab that beast, that beast move so fast to the corner of the room. The spirit disappear after he reach the ground leaving a sound of the pounding from his feet and also from the ceramic knife. The vessel seems to be he could sense the spirit’s presence but he just standing around like he waiting for the right moment to attack.
“Die you asshole!”
The vessel suddenly appear above that beast and stab him. That beast screaming in pain and the vessel are suddenly floating in the sky with his fists clenches ready to punch the beast. When he almost reach he just hit the beast’s face. But, not with his fist. He using his feet. Then, the spirit getting mad and says.
“THIS LITTLE SHIT! I THINK YOU WILL HIT HIM WITH YOUR FI-.”
Surprisingly the beast are just still threw by that kick. He makes the wall crack a bit. When the beast are fallen to the floor and makes another crack, his eyes are closed for 3 second and it reopening. He stand up and scream. But it isn’t same like the pain scream back then it’s more like the wrath scream.
“HOW DARE BOTH OF YOU... BROKE MY BEATIFUL SCALES!!! YOU ALL WILL PAY FOR IT RIGHT NOW!!!” He shouting while his eyes turned from green colour into a bloody red colour.
“He’s evolving!” The spirit said and his eyes looks so scared like he just see a grim reaper. His hand and legs are trembling so hard.
“Huh? Seriously, evolving to what? A carrot hahaha.”
The vessel try to make fun of it but the spirit patting his shoulder quiet hard and says.
“It isn’t time to making a joke right now. I just realized that this guy is not an ordinary beast...”
“He... is a mystical beast. But from the middle castes.”
“M-middle castes? Seriously?!! Our first true boss is just like a hard stages for the character with a low level from a game. Aww c’mon dude.”
The spirit and vessel said while suddenly trembling.
“What should I do, this kid won’t have a chance against that beast true form.”
I’m afraid that kid won’t stand a chance against that thing and running while leaving his own pride cowardly and never come back to this world. I start to think what shall I do to keep that kid. When I see him, his face are just looks so calm like nothing happens and it seems like he had an idea. Not long after it.
*The office are just destroyed and that beast growth
“Damn dude, you were right, he isn’t an ordinary beast.”
“He is, a super cool mystical beast! I mean look at the form he turned from a little chimera into a glorious dragon.”
“As I expected back then tho.. wohooo now I’m feeling SCARED. OHH SHIT, WHAT SHOULD I DO.”
“I hope I can master that skill soon.”
He said with various feeling that written from his face from a serious face then turn into a courageous face then into a super scared face. He clenching his fist, teeth and his legs. Like he try to cover his fear. For the first time, my heart are opens, I’m touch by him... Touched by kid from another world with his age still on 13 years old.
For the first time at that moment, I’m smiling not because I’m showing my prideful side to my enemy. I’m smiling because I lost from a little kid because only I’m fear, scared, trauma because I’m fighting a mystical beast again with a king for the five times after losing 4 of those king and that brings a good memories for me same as this kid does.
“Then, what should I do, my Lord Zein?” I said with confidence.
“I don’t know.”
“Hmm, fine. I’ll do it myself!”
He answered, it makes me surprised. I don’t even think he would say that. Suddenly he stands up. Both of his hand are pose like holding something but there’s nothing there. Then he walk very calm and the wind comes out from every direction pointing towards his hand. Next, those wind are merge and forming a karambit with a deep black color.
“Time to assassinate.”
He said. I’m running and hiding around the broken pillar to observe what the boy would do. He stomps his foot to do a dash. That beast use his claws to stop that kid’s movement but his movements are to slow to stop him. That boy then stop but he didn’t reach the floor and he used the wind ball to boost him up, he do the dash again and he slash from his right shoulder until the left edge of his stomach. That beast are just screaming. That boy fly again a bit and stop on the beast’s left wing.
“Blue... tempest!”
He said. From that wind karambit, the wind are spreading into his body and suddenly the colour of the wind changed from deep black color into a ocean blue colour. Then he move his body 95° and he moved again. He’s moving around that beast and leave a scratch on his body.
“THIS, LITTLE, KID! RRRAAAAAGGHHHHH!!! I.. KILL YOU!”
That beast screaming in suffer. He flaps his wings and make such a powerful wind that it can even throw rubble from this building. I’m trying to fly but the pressure from the wind he made are just making me can do nothing like he are using magra. Then suddenly that boy take me using his blue tempest.
“Hey, do you maybe you might asking ‘how could that kid use so many skill in this super speed time?’ it’s easy. I’m using the wind king’s memories to use those of that skill. But, I can only use two element right now and the second element are useless in this condition.”
He said so sudden. I’m very surprised that he learnt so many skill with only saw the memory of his seniors.
“Ha-ha, this is one of 10 reason why I’m choosing you to be the king on this country. After this battle ends. I will tell you why I’m choosing you be the king of this country.”
“COME BACK, HERE!!! YOU LITTLE BASTARD.”
That beast said while grunting. That kid let me go and we both fly and accidently break an old house’s door. Luckily we’re land safely but that kid sound like he are in pain. When I look at him he just cover his left shoulder using his right hand and his stomach with his left hand.
“Hey, are you okay? Since when you’ve been injured?” I said with a little bit panicked.
“Maybe *coughs* when I’m trying to escape with you back then. Ohh yea right, uhh the wind are very strong back th- AAARRGGGHHH.” He screaming in pain again.
My mana has just restored back then when I’m hiding to see him fight. Then, I’m trying to heal him again and apologize to him.
“Sorry, If you didn’t save me earlier you wouldn’t be hurt like this.” I said with guilt.
“Nah, you shouldn’t think about it.”
“Just take it as a token of my second thanks has took me to this world.” He said with a low voice
“Wait, what is the first thanks then?”
“I’m giving you the eternity too.”
I didn’t recognise it at the first time, but for a while I suddenly realise it and with a high voice I say.
“HUH REALLY?! SERIOULY?!! IS THAT TRUE? STAB ME!!!”
“Okay. Let’s go.”
He said while creating the wind karambit again.
“H-Hey wait!”
It’s too late he just stabbed me. I close my eyes and thinking that I’m just died already. But, I’m slowly open my eyes. And, nothing happened. It’s true I’m still alive.
“Whoa. That’s epic.”
I said with some relief mixed with my lingering fear and panic what was left earlier.
“RRRAAAGGHH.” Suddenly a strange voice appeared from nowhere.
“FUCK YOU ASHO- Astaghfirullah Zein, remember don’t do a toxic to much it’s to bad for you.” That little boy said.
“I will finish them off, you can just stay here or if you want to follow me just fly above me and do nothing.” He said with a heavy voice. I know he just remembered about what he does back then and he still feeling guilty.
“Maybe I’ll stay here. I mean it’s very cozy here tho.”
Well totally I lied to him. I decide to stalk him after he go. He finally go out from this house and run away. When I look outside, I see there’s so many undead around this house. But that kid are just still running while screaming I decide to follow him super fast and see what’s happen. He is crying while says “I will kill that beast after I’m finish training with this *sobbing* dumbells.”
