Chapter 9:

Hi guys, really sorry for the delay, the spine of my computer broke(just my luck!), so I am writing this on my school computer. The keyboard is sticky and hard to press, help!

'Can you at least give me my watch back?' he mumbled.

'I'll be keeping it since you're still a prisoner.' she barked.

'You and your mother.' he muttered to himself.

So there he was, sitting with the brownie(that's what he calls her in his head), drawing blueprints for something that he didn't even freely agree to.

'So what are you going to do now?' she asked.

He shifted back and forth, rubbing his chin.

'All I have to do is show the queen how I can make rain with the help of cloud seeding and she'll let me go.'

'What's that?'

'Cloud seeding is a very tedious process, but since we are in shortage of water and time, I think it's our only option.' he sighed.

There are many options for planting in a drought country, but all of them need at least a ton of water.

So there are also a lot of options using advanced technology like IRIS and machines made work easier, and since they lived in a spaceship anyway they had the power to make any planet habitable in a matter of decades, almost 1000 times faster than the technology 1000 years back.

But now, without the use of electricity, there is one option he can think of: that is possible in about 2 days.

He looked at the princess, still fiddling with the watch trying to crack it open. Her face wasn't the best and she was heterochromatic like her mother, but her arms were pretty stiff and muscly. He sighed. Oh my god, where's the redhead?

But it's the only logical outcome, an ally can help him fasten the process.

'So...can you fly?'

She looked at him like she wants to swat him.

'Do I look like a bird to you?' she asked in a deadly tone.

'No, but....well, can you like, you know, magic?'

She scowled and nodded.

'I'm not a god or goddess to fly. Nor am I a bird! no one except the gods can fly. You can ask them if you want to fly. Actually, why do you want me to fly?' she started blabbing again.

She always seemed to blab when she was near him. She found that bloody annoying.

'Fine! I'll fly!' he grumbled and started drawing something on the parchment.

20 minutes passed and he was still focused on the paper.

He slowly raised from his seat as he exhaled deeply and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Meanwhile, Kara had gone back to her room to get Peanut.

Peanut was quietly sleeping until he noticed his master missing.

He yelled, jumped from the window, and perched on one of the trees to find his master.

She's usually outside and knows that his master loves fresh air, so he waited till she climbs the tree and will sneak back into the window.

But surprisingly, she came through the front door.

He rarely remembers her opening and exiting through the front door.

This isn't your style! the monkey tried to communicate but all that came out were screeches.

But Kara knew him well enough to understand what he said.

'Yeah, I know! but I found the prisoner and he's like my age! can you believe it! and he's like- he has this lavender hair and I think that- that it's...' she blurted but couldn't finish her sentence.

'Oh come on! I convinced the guard that my mother is letting me do this but I know he'll be back. I just need something exciting to do right now and the boy had this weird watch. I have it, see?' she held out the silver-colored ticking instrument in front of her animal companion.

The monkey jumped in excitement like a child going to an amusement park for the first time.

He snatched the watch from her just like she did from Cyran and started licking and biting the straps vigorously.

'Blech!' he spat out in disgust.

'Peanut, buddy, it's not candy, it's a...watch!' she explained to the monkey to whom he didn't listen.

It threw the watch and hid behind her back.

'I told you it's not for eating, now go back to sleep, I'll be right back.' she waved to him but he was still clinging on to her not letting her go alone.

She sighed and rolled her eyes.

'Fine, suit yourself!' she smiled and exited through the front door.

Cyran sighed a sigh of relief. It was his sleeping time but he didn't feel sleepy at all. He feels more alive than he has ever been.

These crazy people gave him a real-life assessment and gave him a deadline to complete it with low resources.

'This is a work for a real genius!' he chimed as he scribbled the model of a wooden glider which he can use to spray the chemicals in the most humid place here to bring rain.

The whole process will take more than 200 hours approximately to make the whole nation rain, so he picked the most humid and small place to make it rain.

There is also a hindrance. The crazy daughter of the crazy mother just barges in without knocking or asking for permission.

It doesn't look like she wants to help him, just belittle and disturb him.

If he was still on the ship he would've had his bots throw the brat out, but he has to face her, or he dies.

This time she came in with a monkey. A monkey!!

'What is wrong with you? why did you bring a feral animal inside the room?' he shrieked and jumped on the table.

She didn't reply to it and flipped the models he had drawn.

Her eyes went wide open and she grinned delightedly as if she was the one that innovated this.

'Amazing! this is a flying machine! I never thought you could pull something like this!' she appreciated him.

He didn't seem impressed, just annoyed.

'Well, I still have to build it and spread the chemicals to make it rain so your mother won't kill me.' he replied sighing.

'Well, since that's the case, we'll help you!' kara said happily.

'You're not going to do anything then get out of this room.'

'Well if you don't I'll tell my mother to reduce your deadline to 12 hours.' she smirked.

That witch! Cyran cursed in his mind.

But he did need to get it done within 24 hours. And without any machines, he needed all the people he could get.

He sighed and slapped his head.

'Fine! but just so you know, my life depends on it so don't mess it up ok?' he growled.

'Yeah yeah let's go now!' Kara exclaimed.

And so begins the building of the magnificent flying machine!
