Convincing Douglas and Ivy

The duo, under the protection of the water bubble, adjusted their positions to face the direction of the voice.

Bruna had a contemptuous look in her eyes when she saw that the duo were ready to attack "whoever" was coming at them. She sighed, "If only they knew."

She said to them, "Calm your stables. I'm a friend, somehow."

Douglas replied, "We don't have any somehow friends. Either you are a friend or you are an enemy. But let me warn you, if you hurt us, the Dark Lord will surely hunt after you."

Bruna shook her head. The duo had yet to see her because she was walking through a cluster of trees. Soon, she was in the open. She apologized, "I'm sorry for making the both of you panic."

"I have noticed your talents. And I think that I have an expedition that will showcase your talents. I came to see if you were interested."

Ivy asked, "First of all, who are you?"

"My name is Bruna Mendez."

Douglas ransacked his memory, "I know from somewhere."

Ivy said, "She works with Sanchez."

Douglas was triggered with caution, "Sanchez! That sketchy guy!"

"Sanchez has quite the reputation," Bruna sighed. "That is why I have cut ties with him."

Douglas stepped closer to Bruna, trying to scare her with his structure. In Bruna's mind, she scoffed at his effort, contemptuously.

"Is that so? Then, explain to us how you came to know about us," Douglas demanded.

"Sanchez is not good in keeping secrets. What do you think got him his reputation?"

Ivy said to her, "Nevertheless, we will not join any of your 'expeditions'. We are under the command of the Dark Lord, which does not permit us to leave this place."

"But what if you I gave you the chance to make the Dark Lord proud?"

Douglas refutes, "We don't want your chance. We are content with what the Dark Lord has provided for us.

Bruna looked intently at Ivy, "What if I gave you the chance to see the world outside this place? Outside our island, to be precise. You will have the chance to go to another continent and see the kind of things that exist there."

Bruna's last action was well calculated. Her last statement struck a chord with Ivy. Ivy had never been to other places except for being on Sirio Escuro which was because her tribe relocated residence.

Bruna knew of that weakness thanks to Sanchez, who revealed it to her.

Ivy had a change of heart. She wanted to know what Bruna had in store for Douglas and her.

As for Douglas, he didn't want to be a part of Bruna's plans. He barked at her to leave their place or he would use force to drive her away. He failed to notice that Ivy was frequently tugging at his arm.

"Dough!" Ivy yelled at Douglas. He directed his attention at her. Ivy had given him the nickname "Dough."

Bruna praised Sanchez in her mind, "That sly pervert was right. They had gotten intimate with themselves." She also remembered that Sanchez mentioned that one day, he caught Douglas swimming inside Ivy. She naughtily thought about how big he was down there.

Douglas lowered the water bubble. Then he and Ivy went aside to have a quiet discussion. She revealed to him her intentions to see what the outside world looked like. He tried to convince her that Bruna was trying to persuade them to join her dirty schemes.

Ivy said to Douglas, "I don't think her schemes will be that bad. By the way, we can strike a bargain. Remember, we are a rare talent on the island."

"What if there were talents better than ours?" Douglas reasoned.

"There is no talent better than ours. If there was, the Dark Lord would have signed the talent. I'm going to tell Miss Bruna that we will be joining her expedition on certain conditions."

Ivy left him to talk with Bruna. He looked a bit crestfallen. He cursed silently, "F**k!"

Ivy approached Bruna and asked, "Are you a miss or misses."

Bruna told her she was a misses. Ivy asked why she had cut ties with Sanchez.

Bruna replied, "Sanchez is a pervert. Can you believe he shamelessly admitted he wanted to eat me, despite knowing I was still with my husband?"

Ivy said, "Well, I can't blame him. You look too sexy for someone in her sixties."

"He also wanted to eat one of our colleagues who was widowed."

Ivy defended Sanchez, "I think that Mr. Sanchez was a good guy. I think he genuinely wanted to cheer up the widow. He must have thought she was sad and lonely."

Bruna couldn't believe her ears, and she gave Ivy the "Not you too" stare. She thought, "Does this young lady think that this world is a bed of roses? No wonder Sanchez supported that we come for them."

She explained to an inquisitive Ivy what the expedition was about. Ivy and Douglas, along with their demon pets, were to lead a band of spell-binders to go and massacre some outsiders.

Douglas, who wasn't too far from the ladies, was triggered against the plan. "No, we are not joining you in your bloodthirsty crusade!" He said as he approached the ladies.

Ivy didn't see any problem with the expedition's aim. So she wasn't glad about Douglas's opposition. "What's wrong with you? I thought we agreed on this. "

Douglas had picked up on the Dark Lord's ideology. The ideology was that to conquer people, bloodshed wasn't necessary and that showing unreachable power to the opponent assured conquest against the enemy.

Bruna said to Ivy, "It seems like opening yourself for him to swim inside you wasn't worth it."

Douglas was enraged by Bruna's words. He yelled at her, "Shut your goddamn mouth! She is not a hoe like you!"

Bruna was vexed by the reply, but she controlled herself. He really got her.

Douglas tried to convince Ivy to forget about joining Bruna's expedition, but she was adamant about her decision.
