Ten seconds later, Fred was on the other side of the finish line. He let out a breath and said to himself,
"Time to be a better person."
He set the gun's firing rate at one bullet per squeeze. Then he lifted up his face and began to take out lots of missiles coming at fellow batch members.
His good act saw the whole batch finish the hurdle course in less than ten minutes.
In the Major's office, Royal's eyes were twitching in anger as he watched the performance from Batch 5. He and the Major were the only people in the office.
"Isn't teamwork illegal?" Royal complained.
The Major didn't look Royal's way. Instead, he clapped his hands, showing that he was impressed by Batch 5. Royal couldn't believe the Major's reaction. He knew that he couldn't raise any more complaints. All he could hope for was that the performance would go downhill from the next course.
