Second Mission

Mr. Rogan broke away from the embrace. He got a seat in a corner of the room and sat on it, facing Kyle’s bed. He asked,

"Kyle, how do you feel?"

Kyle freed himself from his mother’s embrace. He answered,

"Honestly, I feel very fine."

He twisted his torso to the right and left. He felt no pain at all. The injuries sustained in the plane crash were completely healed.

Mrs. Rogan said to Kyle, "Dear, are you sure?"

"Mum, I can swear that I am fine," Kyle said with a smile.

Mr. and Mrs. Rogan exchanged looks. They were astonished. They themselves still felt aches from the bundling and sedation. If they had any idea what Kyle faced, they would have hired the services of a home physician. Elizabeth told her son about how he was heavily sedated.

Kyle’s face didn’t hide his shock, and he was dumbfounded. He finally broke the silence, saying,

"I guess I just slept out the sedatives."

The trio laughed at the joke.
