Mourning

King's POV

Matthews was alert about the barbarian's arrival the day after his wife's death but he stayed with his wife's body and refused to let anyone in their room by any means necessary.

They left him to mourn for his wife until he was back on his feet and was in a stable position to answer for his crime concerning the boy.

Matthews sat in his ro for days without getting out for air, people started to wonder how he was taking care of his dead wife's body. Anyone who passed by the room could Matthews sobbing or throwing glass objects around the room or begging for god to bring back his wife.

He was not even aware of what the palace was going through or the release of the vampire boy.

Evans decided to stat behind even though he did not like Matthews he even wanted to honor Lilith by staying beside through his process of mourning.

A few days later.

Evans had already enough annoyance in him that he ft it was time Matthews hat to leave his chamber one way or the other he brought himself to knock on the room but there was no response.

"My lord...I many not know how you feel right now...it was so sudden to all of us and mostly to you. I know you and I never seemed eye to eye but I have known Lilith for a long time and I know she will be happy if I was here and most of all she would not approve of your behavior in this state" Evans sighed and sat next to the bedroom door hearing Matthews sobbing again.

"Its all my fault, the village, the deaths and your death my soldier's deaths its all my fault, if I did not bring that creature here you you still be smiling at me now like you always did" Matthews whispered, Evans could hear some of the words he said but not all.

"Matthews, the boy was taken a few days ago by the barbarians under a contract. I didn't expect Dardanos to consider his death as a contract break" Evans shrugged in annoyance.

Matthews raised his head and stared at the door, did he say his death as a contract break? Matthews stood up and slowly walked to the door and leaned his head against the door wiping his tears.

"What do you mean his death as a contract break?" Matthews asked.

Evans quickly stood up hearing Matthew's voice. "Uh the boy, he said he accepts his demand if we agree to this that's when he said that if Dardanos dies then the contract is over and he is free" Evans shook his head.

Matthews sighed kicking the table that was already on the floor near him angrily. That made Evans flinch hearing the noise inside the room.

Suddenly there was loud no is outside but Evans couldn't hear anything until one of the guards came running towards him in the hallway.

"Sir! There's an attack outside now!" The guard said breathing heavily.

Evans gasped.

"What who's attacking?" He asked already he was ready on his feet.

"Vampires!" The guards replied.

"Dammit! Put the castle on lockdown and get a few guards on this level to protect the king!" Evans shouted already running out of the hall.

Matthews could hear their conversation and looked outside the window to find a larger group of vampires already inside the castle walls.He quickly picked up the Queen's body and wrapped it with the sheets and opened the secret passage next to the portrait of his wife and closed it behind it.

As soon as Evans reached the castle it was a blood bath. The vampires had already broke down the castle gates and dead bodies filled his every sight.



"God so many?" Evans shouted grabbing a near by sword and spotted Skyler fighting, he fought his way to him.

"Evans? Where is the king?" Skyler asked still fighting.

"He is safe, what happened here?" Evansbadkef as they ran inside the castle to take cover.

They quickly closed the large doors as soon as they stepped in...the vampires started banging the door.

"They just came out of nowhere and crashed right into the gates!" Skyler shouted walking back and forth nervously.

"What on earth? Why are they so many..?"

The door kept banging over and over afmgain while the guards pushed back.

"I don't know alright! " Skyler shouted pushing his hair back and forth while kept walking side to side.

One of the guards who was guarding the king came down running. "The king! He is not in his bedroom chamber!"

"What? Did I not say guard him? How is he not there and you are here?"vevans asked pulling the guard by his amour.

"Evans let him go! I know where the king is alright so relax!" Skyler pulled Evans away from the guards.

"Where is he then?" Evans asked.

"Secret chamber it leads to the back of the castle he is safe"

"You go and make sure our so called king is safe and I will stay here and try to hold them off until you get back with the green light" Evans said.

Skyler nodded and rushed back with the guard while Evans and the others helped keep the door shut.

Suddenly the large wooden door bury open sending the ground men flying across the ground into the castle walls.

"Don't you know its rude not letting your visitors in?" A voice appeared echoing the in the air and figure appeared and behind him stood a group of vampires...Evans and the guards were ready with they swords and the archers as well realizing one of the soldiers was dead.

"Who are you? And what do you want from us?" Evans asked.

"Oh my such anger in such a beautiful evening?allow me to introduce myself..Lycus we met bofore I am probably your worst nightmare" lycus smiled walking towards them."The boy..where is Morpheus?"

"Morpheus?" Evans asked....so it is as he had expected, the little worm planned all this.
